  • "Gorgeous cottage in a tranquil and idyllic village."

Equipped with everything you should need ( could have done with more fire wood and lighters). We will recommend it and hopefully return again. Had a wonderful few days

  • "A very comfortable cottage with everything we needed."

A small bottle of milk for tea/coffee when you first arrive would have topped things off for us. Good shops in the village were a bonus. My husband could not get over the selection in the butchers/deli. The Masons Arms for dinner was great. The river walk close by was beautiful. The village castle worth a visit. Everything we wanted to visit and more was within a 40 minute drive.

We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at 8 Pedwell Way, Norham is a beautiful village. Property Owner

  • "We loved pedwell cottage."

Such a great location and the village was so friendly, honestly everyone we saw chatted to us. Local shop is handy and we'll stocked. The river walk and castle was lovely. We visited lots of places not too far , Holy Island , Alnwick , Berwick and Bamburgh Castle. The cottage has everything you require and it's a nice place to relax at the end of a long day. The rooms are nice and airy and spacious and it was certainly very clean. The welcome pack was lovely thanks so much. Next door neighbour was also very friendly and chatty. I'd definitely recommend Pedwell to anyone.

  • "Lovely village."

Close to small quaint villages and castles. Place was spotless and welcoming. Loved the bottle of bubbly and biscuits. Local pub served good food and deli in the village was great. I am a widow and felt safe wandering about and visiting the pub The staircase is steep but this is an old house so not everything is standard. I’ve got a heart condition and managed taking it slowly but it would be useful to have another bannister

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and felt safe and secure. Norham is a beautiful village with so many great amenities and a second pub just opened! Property Owner

Well furnished and equipped, bathroom especially. Shame about the lack of a garden, but overall can certainly recommend this as a place to stay.

  • "My husband and I have limited mobility the stairs were very steep."

And the sofa in the living room was very low and I struggled to get up , we could not find bins to put rubbish in so I put it in the dog bin in the cemetery over the road ,we also had ants in the kitchen they were on the benches in the morning would not recommend this cottage for older people like our self, also there was no slip Mat or handrail in the shower

We are sorry you found the property did not meet your requirements, we will ensure Sykes includes an accessibility statement on the profile. There are instructions in the Property information book and on the door to the cupboard housing the kitchen bin, directing you to the location of the bin. Thank you for drawing our attention to ants being present in the property, we have had the property checked and you will be pleased to know they is no sign of them. Property Owner

The location is great, a perfect base for exploring the area. A nice village (friendly locals) and handy to have the bakers, shop and the pub nearby. Good also to be able to eat out without needing to drive. We did a great walk from the door along the river to the Union suspension bridge, honey farm and via the castle on our return. Also enjoyed the Lowry trail in Berwick. We loved evening strolls along the river, so relaxing. The Tweed is so beautiful. A good place to relax . We appreciated the welcome gifts.

Well appointed with a particularly comfortableking sized bed with good en suite. No garden, but easy access to quie lane leading down to the River Tweed so excellent for dog walking. Riverbank has good footpath all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed and west towards Coldstream. • "We loved the cottage."

It was cool when arrived but was quickly warmed. It would benefit from extra storage for food items as there was just the fridge and a shelf so it made getting a shop in for the five days a bit of a juggle. The owner was very helpful when i contacted her and sent helpful information about local beaches. We were right near the walks on the river Tweed and our dogs loved that! Local people were very friendly and welcoming too. The local church chimed the hour but not after midnight and early hours, which was really quaint. We would definitely book again.

  • "Lovely little very clean, tidy, well appointed cottage in a wonderful village in a beautiful area."

There the ruined Norham Castle which you pass on the way into the village. The river Tweed literally a quarter of a mile down the lane. Wonderful river walks. The local pub The Masons Arms provides great food but you need to book. We will definitely come again. Three days nothing like enough time. The only criticism with the cottage is the information pack with seems to be generic. Stating a quick walk to the beach which is actually around 20 miles away. It states that electrical instructions are kept in the kitchen but there aren't any. Had to leave the kitchen bin rubbish bag in the hall because there isn't a refuse bin on the property.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are glad to hear you made it to the beaches of Bamburgh and Holy Island, they are worth the drive! We are sorry you didn't find the bin, it is kept in the side alley to preserve the beauty of the village. as directed in the instructions for departure sent out by Sykes. Property Owner
