“We had a very pleasant few days in Fiddler's Cottage.”
It was cosy and warm, spotlessly clean from top to bottom, comfortable bed, nice en suite. We'd happily return.
It was cosy and warm, spotlessly clean from top to bottom, comfortable bed, nice en suite. We'd happily return.- Dr Snider, October 2020
“Fiddler's cottage is in a fantastic place just off the A1.”
It's ideally situated for all the attractions and resorts. Even though the cottage is situated very close to the A1 you cannot hear any traffic. Would definitely book Fiddler's cottage again the scenery around this part of Northumberland is absolutely beautiful.- Mr Deacon, September 2020
“Nothing negative at all.”
Fiddlers cottage was very warm and cozy. Everything a couple would need was there and usable. We loved the complimentary lemon drizzle cake and wanted more. The log fire was a treat with a plentiful supply of logs. Jane, the owner and Farmer, took time out From her busy schedule to drive us round the farm estate and showed us the alternative holiday accommodation (2 x Narrow Boats). These looked very cozy and offer users a spectacular view. Thanks you.- Mr Young, January 2020
“Perfect location to see many attractions within a 20 mile radius ,this must be most perfect place we have every visited in many years of using Sykes ,previous comments have mentioned A1 traffic noise it’s there but does not distract from anything the cottage has to offer and the carrot cake went down a treat with my wife and son.”
Never had a property with such a generous amount of consumables in the kitchen and bathrooms well done to Jane for getting as close to perfection as possible.- Mr Grant, October 2019
“A good location from which to explore Northumberland.”- Mrs Swarbrick, August 2019
“We had a great holiday.”
Cottage was lovely and in a great location to visiting Northumberland sites.- Mr Goodliff, August 2019
“This is a high quality cottage, well appointed, well equipped, very clean and comfortable.”- Mr Connor, June 2019
“Very well equipped cottage in perfect location for exploring Northumberland.”- Mr Wilson, May 2019
“Fiddlers Cottage is a wonderful cottage in a super vicinity , quite near the A1 BUT this has its advantages, and we did not have Any disturbance at night .”
Easy to access all the wonderful Northumberland Coast. We had a problem with the boiler BUT the owner went above and beyond to help us and we were impressed by her empathy With our situation. The cottage is very comfortable ,lovely beds, linen, well equipped and we will be returning next year . It now has a new boiler so all sorted. If you have not visited before do go to Low Newton, and try to get to the Ship Inn- Mrs Hinchcliffe, May 2019
“Fab location, was surprised just how close it was to the A1 but also how we couldn't actually hear the road either which was great.”
Being the end cottage is perfect as you feel out the way of the other residents living there. The views are lovely and the cottage was perfect. The cottage was lovely had everything we needed and more and was a really nice stop. Would definitely stop again if in the area as it was in driving distance of everything! Thanks for a lovely stay- Miss Atkinson, March 2019
“A wonderful cottage & we had a fantastic holiday.”
The owner had thought of everything & we wanted for nothing- Mrs Johnston, February 2019
“This was an excellent cottage.”
It was very clean and well appointed. It was situated in a quite area but within easy reach of a main town. The cottage was in a beautiful walking area and I would definitely use the cottage as abase again.- Mrs Langdon, February 2019
“Beautiful cottage in a very convenient location for all the local castles and beaches.”
You can hardly hear the traffic. The cottage has absolutely everything you could possibly need and it’s so cozy. The only tiny criticism is having to pay for logs when you’re there for a weekend but other than that perfect thanks.- Mrs Claire, February 2019
“We felt that the cottage was very well-equipped and comfortable.”
Couldn't really fault the place; except, perhaps, its proximity to the A1. Apart from that, a lovely property.- Mr Matheson, September 2018
“The cottage was extremely well equipped and comfortable.”
We especially appreciated that the owners had gone out of their way to provide enough of the essentials - toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, hand soap etc that we did not need to worry about buying extra. It may have been a useful addition to have a 'book of words' giving local information about the nearest petrol station, food stores, take aways, emergency GP numbers etc. However we all had a lovely relaxing break, and I would highly recommend this property to others.- Mrs Mott, September 2018
“Only negative of the property is we found the sofa uncomfortable .”
Apart from that we can't fault the cottage.- Mrs Slater, August 2018
“Good location with easy access to coastal attractions and inland.”
Proximity od A1 not a problem. Property well equipped.- Mr Winter, August 2018
“Fiddler' cottage made the perfect base for our family holiday.”
It was comfortable, clean and very well-equipped and nicely decorated. Really handy for Alnwick, local beaches and Cragside. Would definitely recommend and stay again!- Mrs Grantham, August 2018
“The cottage was delightful but very close to the main A1 so if it is hot enough to need the windows open particularly at night, then the noise is very intrusive.”
Also there are no shops close by so you have to remember to take what you need with you and also eating places are at least five miles away.- Mrs Oxenham, June 2018
“The cottage is wonderful, so close to the A1 meant our extensive travelling throughout Northumberland and Scotland was so much easier.”
The private drive was a nice touch as was the delicious chocolate cake waiting for us.- Mr Ripley, May 2018
“Gorgeous cosy cottage.”
Very well equipped and impeccably maintained. The owners even left us a home made chocolate cake! Only catch is that it’s right by the A1, so lots of traffic noise in the garden - though no noise at all in the house.- Dr Taylor-Batty, April 2018
“This is a little gem of a holiday cottage and was perfect for our Easter escape to have some well needed family rest time - we will definitely be booking again in the future.”- Mr Burn, March 2018
“Very cosy & comfortable cottage beautiful surroundings.”
Owners left a home baked cake for us to enjoy which we did ( yummy ).would recommend to anyone..thanks....- Mr Boylan, March 2018
“We were SO impressed with the cottage!”
It was immaculate inside and we will absolutely visit again! There was a small problem with the boiler and Sykes contacted the owner, a lovely lady btw!, and she got an engineer out very quickly and hot water & heating was back on very quickly. There is so much to do there and plenty of stunning coastline to explore. It was a shame that we could only stay a week! We were very much at home there. I recommend it to everyone who is looking for a complete break from day-to-day life....- Mr Walton, February 2018
“Fabulous cottage, very well appointed.”
Very cosy and beds very comfortable. Very close to A1 but great location for visiting coastline & Alnwick.- Mrs Hill, October 2017
“An extremely well-appointed property in a central location for short driving to many wonderful sights of the area.”
The owner left a homemade chocolate cake which was very much appreciated!!- Mrs Cherkas, October 2017
“Should make it clearer that it is on the A1 and therefore a lot of traffic noise in the garden - but cottage very nice and otherwise good location for sites.”- Prof Broadfoot, September 2017
