“Cosy cottage in ideal location”
This cottage ticked all our boxes:
Cosy and comfortable, with log burner
Nearby pubs
Easy to get to Northumberland sites and attractions
The cottage was well equipped, although we could have done with some kindling to get the stove going on the first night but easily got hold of some from the local shop the next day. The kitchen had enough space and equipment to cook a roast! The bed was comfy (perhaps a little too comfy!). I think the only downside was the bathroom, which was mighty cold! The underfloor heating was not apparent and stuck on the back of the cottage it didn't get any heat from the stove / heaters. It did soon warm up from the convector heater, just a bit of an initial cold shock in the mornings.
We visited a huge number of sites within 30-45 mins of this location: Cragside, Alnwick Gardens, Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle, Bamburgh and did a local walk ending at one of the pubs.
This was ideal for what we wanted. Thank you.
