“Ingram cabin was weatherproof, warm and comfortable.”
However, on arrival we found some crockery and cutlery to be dirty, the kitchen sink plug was detached from it's chain and the chain for the plug in the bathroom was missing and finally, and importantly, the threshold of the door was broken leaving a large splinter of timber. Finally the data sheets in the folder for the cabin seemed to be out of date. The cabin was 'tired' and in need of detail attention.
The Fram Park site was also 'tired' in that the internal roads were well worn, rutted and had minor potholes. The site office seemed to be permanently closed and there seemed to be no evidence of site managers. This was a particular problem for many using the site as the road to Framlington was closed a few days after we arrived resulting a 6 mile detour to get to the village by car, a journey that is normal just over a mile. This should of been a situation of which the site management should have been aware and provided advice to the site residents and to those coming from afar to take over a cabin. No such warning or advice was given.
Overall, whilst the essentials of the cabin were met attention to detail and presentation was severely lacking and site management was poor. Hence my rating of 2.
