  • "We had a wonderful week in Newton View apartment."

Swimming pool is amazing! Fantastic walks and visits to Lindisfarne and Alnmouth. Great places to eat locally and lovely village shop. Our only disappointment was the noise transference from apartment above. The couple were not necessary noisy but we could hear them moving about and they were night owls! We would like to visit again and maybe stay in a cottage next time.

  • "Wonderful location and very thoughtful welcome pack."

Great walks down to the beach. Facilities within property are excellent. Just a couple of commments - We were woken on 3 consecutive days at 8am by building work directly outside bedroom windows - digger, cement mixer and stihl saw. We understand work may be necessary but a word of communication would have been helpful. Also the steps at the pool are very short to facilitate exit from the water safely for many people especially with any mobility problems. It was a worry for both able bodied and less mobile. Just one extra step would make all the difference. There was never anyone in the office to report a broken WC plunger.

We had no issues during our stay, we were very pleased with the accommodation. The only thing Id mention is that maybe the bathroom wall mirror should be checked out as a precaution, its attachment looked a bit suspect. We didn't touch it just in case. We would definitely use again. Oh and the pool was excellent.

The whole place was amazing and swimming pool was perfect with the 5 times. A great place to then explore the area and excellent to be so close to so many beaches. Incredible view and scenery around the property. The property was very well equipped, clean, tidy and an incredible place to visit. Would go again. Thanks it was an amazing break.

Apartment on the first floor (no lift) is modern and well equipped. Reasonable internet for the remote location. TV has a built in DVD player (but not blu-ray) . Bathroom was very nice with a bath and plentiful hot water. Nice walk to the coast path and Low Newton Ship Inn (check opening times!). Village is 15 minutes walk. All nearby pubs should be booked for evening meals

  • "Lovely apartment, lovely views."

The only negative was the hour slots we were given for the swimming pool. 4 out of our 5 slots were between 10 and 4 which is rubbish when you want to go out for the day! Other properties seemed to get a much better deal!

    Reviewed by Joanne5.8Jul 2021

  • "Would be great if you could trade slots in the pool with other cottages or buy additional slots - eg we were out of the pool extremely promptly on Sunday for the next people…only to find later that nobody went in for the rest of the day after us!"

Apartment is a good one but we felt the bed linen, towels & sofas have all seen better days. Otherwise we enjoyed our week but unlikely to be back next summer as the price rise for the same week is far too much. £800 this year, fine - but over £1k for same week next year - no way.

  • "No long mirror provided, no table on patio despite being advertised and commented by previous guests."

Large bed but could do with a memory foam topper as was very firm and uncomfortable. Worst and most serious disappointment was being kept awake for 2 nights until after 12 midnight by the owners and some of his friends who were camping and having a party right below our bedroom windows. Despite us having to ask them to be quiet on the 1st night and other guests commenting on the 2nd night the owners thought it was OK to party and disturb paying guests wanting a peaceful holiday with noisy children and adults until well after midnight. This was totally unacceptable behaviour and was more like Butlins for 2 nights than peaceful luxury self catering. Do not go on holiday to have disturbed sleep. Very disappointing.

  • "Great location with lovely views of the coast, balcony fairly shelter which made it possible to sit outside and enjoy the morning sunshine, however a table would have been useful to put drinks on."

Ideal place for a relaxing holiday with lovely walks from the door and the pool was an added bonus, would definitely consider going back.

The apartment was immaculately clean and even better than the photos suggested. The indoor pool is a huge asset to the accommodation. We enjoyed an hour session each day of our stay with our two year old son. It was great to have the pool to ourselves and be able to book slots on arrival. We know the area well and it was a good base for the nearby beaches and castles. We would love to return!

  • "Great location and apartment - loved being able to open the curtains on a morning and see the sea, with Bamburgh Castle to the north and Dunstanburgh to the south."

The balcony was sheltered enough so that even on relatively chilly mornings we could still sit out on a morning and get the warmth from the sun. Great location for a base to explore all around Northumberland. Fantastic having the swimming pool on site too! Good idea having the key safe so you don't have to go and find a key holder when you arrive and leave. Only other things I would mention are (i) some cubes of broken glass on the balcony that were swept away to the edge but why not removed? (ii) Strange positioning of the fridge freezer and waste bin meant if you wanted to use them you had to walk round from the kitchen into the living room then back to the kitchen OR move the 3 seater sofa. But would still recommend the apartment and facilities! Can highly recommend The Rolling Pin cafe and Turnbulls food hall both in Alnwick, for a great range of local produce. The Fish Shack on the pier in Amble do a fantastic range of seafood dishes and Kielder Observatory is worth a visit (although it's extremely remote) - needs to be booked in advance though. Barter Books in Alnwick is well worth a visit - you could lose yourself for hours in there and the little cafe is superb.

  • "The room and pool were spotless."

This was our third visit so we knew what to expect. The two sofas are too soft for my disabled husband but they provided us with a solid chair for which we were most grateful. We asked to use the pool on a day when we didn’t have an allotted time and were given a time belonging to an unoccupied house for which we were most grateful. The staff are most obliging and helpful. This is outstanding accommodation with beautiful views and excellent walks and beaches on the doorstep.

The pool makes a fantastic addition, and it’s great to get a few essentials in the property, like milk, tea and coffee. Literally the only thing I can feedback on is that we wished it had stated a DVD player as we would have taken some to watch from home - it wasn’t on the details. The property was clean, bright and had fantastic views - we’ll be back for a 3rd visit soon!

The swimming pool downstairs in the same building is private, bright, airy and enjoyable. The location is a great base for driving to either Lindisfarne, Bamburgh castle or Alnwick and is just a 20 minute walk to the sea and glorious beach on a managed grass path direct from the apartment. We cant fault the place at all and would thoroughly recommend staying at Newton view.

Only slight downside with the use of the pool is the rota system which could be a bit restrictive but does mean only one accommodation can use the pool at a certain time. However that is a minor issue and we would definitely be happy to stay here again in the future.

out of the apartment for 10 AM swim session being given 8.30.to 9.30 quite a rush which would have made it only 4 days to swim had we not taken this slot other than this we enjoyed it very much. Family holiday

!!! Absolutely wonderful in fact, with the beautiful view’s and the nature right there in front of you, with the sunset and sunrises and the beach just a walk away the apartment was perfect in every way possible. Then all the activities near by filled up our fun filled days out with plenty of lovely places to eat out too! And what an awesome ice cream parlour in Seahouses there was that we went to and had the most awesome sundae’s! After a lovely meal of fish and chips from just over the road. The children loved having use of the new pool to ourselves that made them feel special, and what a lovely well kept farm it is too, we would love to visit again sometime.
