The property

A pleasant well-situated cottage in the pretty fishing port of Amble.

Nicely-presented throughout, being close to local amenities as well as the harbour, making it an excellent base for friends or families wishing to explore this delightful part of Northumberland.

Based all on the ground floor, this property may be suitable for wheelchair users.

From the door, you arrive in a spacious conservatory with a dining table and chairs.

This then leads into a sitting room with plenty of comfy sofas in front of a welcoming fire, making a great place to relax in front of after a full day out and about exploring the area.

The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed to prepare some lovely home-cooked meals with a separate dining room also.

There are three bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities as well as a separate wet room for extra flexibility.

To the front is a lawned garden with a patio area.

From the sitting room patio doors lead to an enclosed courtyard garden, making a great place for some alfresco dining or even just a relax with a glass of something chilled.

The vibrant port village of Amble is just a five minute walk away and offers an array of pubs, restaurants and takeaways all serving good food and beverages.

Just a short walk from one of the area's most popular harbours and marinas, the cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore Northumberland's beautiful Heritage Coast, countryside and castles.

A short drive from your cottage will take you to the coastal villages of Craster and Alnmouth, or perhaps spend a day in the popular market town of Alnwick with its imposing castle and famous gardens.

Whatever you decide to do, your cottage is an ideal place to enjoy a wonderful holiday at any time of the year.

About the location

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
