Westland is a good base location to explore the county. The pod provided us with very comfortable accommodation in a beautiful tranquil spot. The pod is equipped to a high specification, and we received a warm and friendly welcome from Dianne the host. The welcome basket of goodies is a very nice touch.

“Fantastic hideaway from city life”

Just spent August bank holiday weekend at the luxury pod with my husband. Spotless everything you need in and outside the pod. Comfortable bed, high quality bedding. Nice quality furniture. Nice little touch a basket with goodies. Great place to unwind. Great views. So nice to open the door to see the animals. Well kept grounds. Hosts 10/10 will go back and highley recommend.

“The Pod was perfect for the two of us.”

A really good compact place to stay, the owners were lovely, and the welcome gift was fabulous especially with a bottle of wine and fresh milk in the fridge, not to mention the biscuits and Northumberland tea!! The location is ideal for exploring the area, and you can either relax in the evening in the Pod or outside in the relaxing chairs, or as we did quite a lot, went for walks every evening through the quiet and beautiful Northumberland countryside.

“Our first experience of "Glamping" and what a way to start.”

The pod (Bracken) was absolutely wonderful, well designed, spotless and a pleasure to stay in. Located in the beautiful grounds surrounding Old Swarland Hall, very tranquil.The photos do not do it justice. Loved waking, looking out and seeing the sheep with their lambs. Found it an easy drive to any location we wished to visit. Thank you also to Diane for the welcome pack, very much appreciated. Would highly recommend the pods or the 2 lodges which we were fortunate to be shown round. Really top class accommodation.

“Superb accommodation in a lovely tranquil setting”

The pods make great accommodation. They are deceptively spacious and contain everything you need for a short break. We were a couple with a young child. The kitchen is really well stocked with everything you need to prepare cooked breakfast. The shower room although snug has a heated towel rail with lovely fluffy warm towels. Despite the cold March weather outside we were toasty warm inside. The wardrobe was big enough to store all our belongings including coats to keep the pod tidy. Location is ideally placed to explore Northumberland. Your just a short drive from the coast, historic Alnwick and some lovely gastro pubs to choose from in the nearby villages. Fantastic hosts in Dianne & Arthur at the farmhouse where keys are collected from. Would highly recommend and we will be returning for another short break soon.

Alnwick 6 miles, Morpeth 12 miles.

The delightful village of Swarland is set in rural Northumberland, between Morpeth to the south and Alnwick to the north. The village has Nelsons, situated in the sports hall, which is open seven days a week, serving excellent coffee and meals, a children’s play area and tennis courts. It is just 8 miles from Alnwick, with its castle and garden, which features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat. There is plenty to see and do near to Swarland, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Brinkburn Priory is a pleasant drive away, a restored Augustinian Priory in a most lovely setting beside the River Coquet. Just 10 minutes’ drive to the west is the National Trust’s Cragside House and Gardens. Altogether a perfect location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
