    “A lovely, well-equipped cottage.”

We enjoyed our stay very much and, hopefully, will return in the future. There was a welcoming package on arrival which was really thoughtful. The owners kept up friendly communication before, during, and after our visit. The cottage itself is surprisingly spacious and our party of four adults felt very comfortable within it. None of us could relate to previous comments about smells. We are all walkers and visited the Breamish valley, Ingram, Linhope spout, Wooler, and Alnwick very easily. There is a small, well-stocked supermarket a short distance away. In short, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend booking this cottage. Helen and Gordon Clarke

The property

This beautiful, double-fronted cottage is located in the square at Powburn village, in Northumberland.

It is the ideal retreat for a family of four or group of friends looking to explore National Parks, nature reserves and the beautiful coastline.

Once you have found hidden treasures, discovered a network of walking trails and historic sites, return to share a relaxing break together.

Step straight into the entrance hall and through to the living room, which plays host to a lovely dining area set in one corner, a lovely space to socialise with your loved ones.

Relax on the sofas in front of the woodburning stove and tune into the TV to stream one of your favourite movies.

The kitchen is home to modern, integrated appliances for you to cook up a delicious meal and there are French doors out to an enclosed garden area.

The ground floor is complete with a bathroom, featuring a shower over the bathtub and a modern finish.

Climb the stairs to a choice of two well-presented bedrooms; a double and a twin, offering flexible sleeping arrangements and soothing décor.

There are bedside tables and lamps, so you can enjoy an evening read before bed, as well as ample storage space to stow away your belongings.

Powburn is home to a village shop, however there are a wider range of amenities in Wooler, easily reached by car along the A697.

It plays host to a number of pubs, bars and eateries at the foothills of the Cheviot Hills.

You are also situated at the edge of Northumberland National Park and have all the delight of Alnwick and the coast at your fingertips.

This characterful homestay offers the perfect holiday destination.
