  • "Lovely cottage very spacious and comfortable."

Just a sort stroll to the castle, beach and village. Had a small problem with the heating system but this was sorted extremely promptly. Just missed a few little things such as kitchen equipment when cooking for a large family. Would certainly stay again.

  • "This is the third year we have stayed in this delightful well situated cottage and we have loved our holidays there."

Unfortunately the capacity is being reduced for the next booking season so, as a family of ten, we will have to look elsewhere, I would recommend this cottage to anyone who would love to see this beautiful area at it's best.

  • "Very spacious property in a great location for exploring the beauty of Northumberland."

10 mins walk from Bamburgh village and of course the magnificent castle. A short walk though sand dunes onto a glorious beach. Short drive or just over half hour walk into Seahouses for supermarket etc. Only negative with this property was the cleanliness. Surfaces were sticky and we had to wipe down on arrival, Under and at the back of beds looked like they hadn’t seen a hoover or duster for quite a while.

  • "Lovely location, perfect family break in a generally nice property."

The main comment is that the hot water system in the cottage needs some investment and upgrading. There is only enough hot water to run one bath, and we ended up sharing baths after the children because otherwise the water runs cold and the one electric shower isn't very strong or adequate if the cottage is full. I actually went to the leisure centre mid week and washed my hair there. Also, a toy / games chest would have been nice as well as all the DVDs.

Thank you so much for your feedback – it’s great to hear that you had a lovely family holiday. We have since upgraded the system and added a new timer along with an extra boost which is making a big difference. We hope this didn’t impact your stay too much. Property Owner

The downstairs space is great. We liked the kitchen layout and the doors from kitchen and conservatory made easy access to the garden. The family room upstairs provided the ideal place for the children to play. It is a very well equipped property too. We were all very comfortable.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
