  • "Very pleasant accommodation."

Bathroom and beds really good. Easy parking outside of the house. Rothbury centre a short walk downhill. Added attraction in the cosy conservatory.

  • "It would be nice if the patio doors into the garden could be used ."

The blinds were a bit of a problem , A pair of scissors in the kitchen draw would be useful and a fish slice A couple of throws in the conservatory would be nice as there was no heating and evenings can be chilly . This was the most comfortable room to sit in . Facilities for recycling weren’t clear . Separate bins for paper, plastic and cans etc would be helpful. Thank you

Thanks for your positive review and comments, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We will get a couple of additional throws for the conservatory as it is lovely to sit and look at the garden, especially at this time of year. The patio doors to the garden do work, I’m not sure what the issue was when you stayed as they are fine when I checked this morning. We have added another pair of scissors and fish slice to the kitchen equipment. Recycling in Northumberland is not as thorough as other areas, all recyclables apart from glass go into the blue bin and there is a container for glass at the back door. I will see if we can leave clearer instructions in the welcome book. Thanks for your suggestions. Property Owner

  • "We have had a lovely week at Glenwood."

The house has been recently refurbished to a high standard, is well equipped and provides a comfortable, relaxing base for a holiday in this part of Northumberland. On arrival at Glenwood we immediately felt at home and the owners had provided a generous welcome pack and fresh flowers. Melanie and Duncan, the owners, were very friendly and helpful. They gave good communication before arrival and responded swiftly to a coupe of minor queries we had during the week. Glenwood is situated in a quiet residential area and it is a very short walk down into the centre of Rothbury, where there are a range of shops, pubs and places to eat ( I would recommend the Italian restaurant). Cragside, Alnwick and the Northumberland coast are all well worth a visit and are all within easy reach of Rothbury. There are also lovely walks in and around Rothbury itself. I would not hesitate to recommend Glenwood.

Secondly, because the house was comfortable and roomy with all the facilities promised, and Melanie our host was welcoming and helpful. I thoroughly recommend Glenwood.
