  • "Another perfect stay in this wonderful cottage."

The owner text to say the cottage was ready early if we wanted to check-in which is very thoughtful. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, tastefully decorated and in a great location just a short distance from the sea, local coffee shops, restaurants and the metro station.

Thank you Elaine for providing such lovely feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future ! Property Owner

So comfortable and homely with lots of special touches and very well stocked. Thank you, I get tired of having to go out shoping for toilet roll's on holiday. We were so appreciative of an early meassge to say we could go in early, on a wet day that was wonderful. The welcome box was devoured by our dog Poppy and ourselves. We shall be back. Highly recommended.

We found it to be very comfortable, well equipped and much larger downstairs than we had imagined. It is ideally placed with only a short walk to the Co-op, Metro, Pub/Restaurant, a variety of takeaways and coastal walks. Brilliant that it is dog friendly too. Many thanks to the owners for providing a lovely place for us to stay.

  • "A beautiful cottage with everything needed inside for a self catering cottage ."

The heating controls were very easy and enabled us to turn it off if out , once heated the cottage held the heat well . We did use the log burner on a couple of evenings which made it very cosy. The bathroom was lovely and warm with a good 2 head shower and the bath was wonderful to soak in as deep. Bedroom was large although we did need to remember to duck to avoid the low parts of the ceiling , comfy bed and bedding. Area has wonderful walks up and down the coastline , the best sunrises , lots of bars and places to eat . Metro station is very close and easy to use to get into Newcastle .

It’s homely, comfortable, it has everything required for a long stay (I used the dishwasher and washing machine) and was perfectly cool in the heatwave! It’s been beautifully renovated and is in the most perfect central location for all Tyneside beaches- I swam at Whitley Bay, Cullercoats, Tynemouth and King Edwards Bay all with 5 min drives. There’s loads to do in the area and so many cute independent cafes, restaurants and bars locally. Cannot wait to return!

The only negative was the lack of a microwave. (I also couldn't get the induction hob to work, possibly my problem). Also couldn't find an iron but as I didn't need one didn't search too much. The property was in a superb location and provided an excellent base to explore the area.

Hi Christine, Thanks for your comments we have taken them on board and there is now a microwave and iron in the cottage. In regards to the hob you should have just given me a ring and I would have popped over to show you how it worked. Glad you had a lovely stay. Thanks Sophie Property Owner

About the location

CULLERCOATS

Tynemouth 1.9 miles; Whitley Bay 1.1 miles; North Shields 2.8 miles; Newcastle-upon-Tyne 9.8 miles

Perched between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay on the North East coast is the urbanised area of Cullercoats. Founded in 1539, the village depended heavily on fishing to support its economy, as well as a local coal mining pit, which was used to fire salt pans to export salt and coal from Cullercoats port. The village is home to unique architecture, including the preserved fishermen's cottages resting a long Simpson Street and Victorian terraces can be found besides the coast. In 1862, Edward Corvan wrote a popular song about the area, titled "The Cullercoats Fish Lass" and American artist, Winslow Home, belonged to the "Cullercoats Colony". In present day, Cullercoats is an idyllic destination for families, due to its long, sandy beach, where you enjoy a dip in the water and a promenade with arcades. Cullercoats offers a plethora of delicious eateries, with its specialty being traditional fish and chips. The village is located just one mine away from both Tynemouth and Whitley Bay.
