  • "They cottage was everything we wanted."

Great location and safe for our young dog. A great base for visiting the places of interest nearby. Druridge Bay was great for long walk along the beach with Mabel

  • "My husband, I and our dog Jett had a fantastic weeks stay at little Robin."

The cottage was beautiful, it had everything we needed. The garden was a little sun trap and we loved nothing more than sitting out to soak up the rays and listen to the birds. The cottage is a great base and in easy reach of the beautiful beaches and villages Northumberland has to offer. I would highly recommend the cottage and shall definitely be booking it again.

Thank you for your lovely feedback - I’m so pleased you had a good holiday and enjoyed staying in Little Robin. We look forward to welcoming to Northumberland again! Best wishes, Nicola Property Owner

  • "Little Robin is a little gem of a holiday cottage."

Ideal as a base for exploring all Northumberland has to offer. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable for the 2 of us and our dog. Room sizes were surprisingly spacious for such an old cottage, with good ceiling heights. The bed linen and towels provided were lovely and fresh, rooms tastefully decorated and furnished. The kitchen had everything that you would need. The downstairs bathroom was a good size, lovely shower with good pressure and plenty of hot water. We had all weathers during our stay, hot days, hail and a bit of snow but the cottage was well heated,we didn't even need to light the fire! Very dog friendly garden with field views and lots of bird life including a pair of pheasants. Dogs are not permitted to go upstairs which is understandable, blankets were provided for the sofas if you hadn't brought your own. Set back from the road, which isn't very busy,so very quiet and peaceful. Although we didn't seem to find any dog walks directly from the cottage,we were spoilt for choice with fantastic beaches and visited a different one every day. The nearest village with facilities would not be easy to walk to so in my opinion you would need transport. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Little Robin. Didn't want to leave!

Thank you for your lovely feedback - I’m so glad you had a great holiday and that you loved the cottage. I hope we can welcome to Eshott again sometime! Best wishes, Nicola Property Owner

  • "This is our 3rd stay at Little Robin and hopefully it won't be our last."

The cottage is cosy and the perfect base to explore this area of Northumberland. The cottage is clean and well equipped and has off road parking. The beds are comfortable and there is an enclosed garden perfect for our dog and to sit watching the wildlife in the fields behind the property. We got a lovely welcome pack which was very much appreciated. Amble is close by and is a lovely harbour town to visit. We would also recommend the Northumberland Arms in Felton for food.

  • "Little Robin was a great find."

We found it had all the things we wanted in our stay. We wanted somewhere near Eshott Hall for the wedding reception we were going to Little Robin did not disappoint. The cooking facilities are very good, dishwasher helped. There was no complaints about the beds. Any drawbacks? Well it rained one day but that didn't dampen our spirits as there are many places to visit, plenty of lovely coastal walks and castles to explore. All in all a very nice week.

Lovely welcome pack on arrival an added bonus. Dog friendly property with secure back garden looking out over woodland and open fields. This is a 300 year old property but spotlessly clean with recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom . We had great weather and thoroughly enjoyed our few days there and would not hesitate to return. Thank you Nicola and Glen :-)

The cottage is ideally situated down a quiet country lane but beaches and lots of places to visit are minutes away by car. The facilities at the very comfortable cottage were first rate, the only recommendation would be for a parasol for the table in the back garden which is south facing and perfect for outside dining( but it does get hot in the sunshine).

  • "It was nice to arrive to a welcome pack."

The cottage is exceptionally well presented, very clean the kitchen is well equipped and the garden secure if you are bringing a dog as we did. The cottage is well located to discover the beaches of Northumberland. We used the Running Fox in Felton for breakfast and takeaway sandwiches and cakes, dogs are welcome here outside. The Duke of Northumberland is about 500 yards away from the Running Fox and has a large outside area for drinks and Food. Our aim was to to discover the beaches , so Bamburgh, Embleton, Druridge, Alnmouth and Warkworth all ticked off. We also stopped off at Craster were we stopped at the Piper Pitch for brews and fantastic sandwiches. Upon the recommendation of our hosts we also tried the Jolly Fisherman in Craster lovely sea food and a well kept pint of Timothy Taylor kept the troops happy. Alnwick , Amble Seahouses and more are all upon your door step, if you stay at the LIttle Robin, I cannot recommend this little cottage enough a fantastic base to explore Northumberland and beyond.

It is a beautiful cottage surrounded by countryside equipped with everything you might need. Thankyou to Nicola for the lovely welcome gifts they were very much appreciated. We love to feed the birds with the seed provided and watch them in the garden. Freddie, our dog, loves the garden and we feel safe when he is out as it is enclosed with no means of escape. The beds are comfortable and the cottage is spotlessly clean. There is off road parking which is great too. All put together this is a perfect place to stay to explore this area of Northumberland and I am sure we will return.

  • "We have been to many cottages over the years, but this one was the best of all we have visited."

Sykes selections are always top notch, but this one was exceptional. First was my phone call a day before our journey and our hostess was easy to talk to, clear and most welcoming. On arrival everything was exactly as our instructions stated. On entering the cottage we were struck by the freshness of the interior and the pleasant smell. Such an immediate impression. In the middle of the parlour there was a bottle of wine and some thoughtful foodie nibbles. Both the bedrooms were so clean and sweet smelling, as was the downstairs bathroom and the generous sized kitchen. The latter was well equipped and nothing has been left to chance. One thing that impressed us, both being elder customers was the wide banister and wide staircase. So many cottages these days have steep staircases, but do not provide any support. This can be hazardous for both old and very young. We expected stairs to be steep, but were so pleased at the thoughtful addition of a sturdy banister. There was a clear guide to the expectations concerning waste disposal and an excellent overview to the immediate area. The crowning glory was the wonderful enclosed back garden and the wildlife in the surrounding environs. It was a delight to sit in as well as the peace of mind that an enclosed area provides when you have a small dog with you. Finally there was a private area in front of the cottage where we could easily park to unload and load. We had a superb week and the contribution of our stay at Little Robin- South Farm was due to the thought given to the layout and hospitality by our hostess Mrs Sanderson. Thank you.

  • "Firstly - Nicola the owner was delightful, very friendlyand helpful."

The cottage itself was situated in a very pretty setting with beautiful scenery and great wildlife all around. - However the pictures of the interior were very deceptive with everything looking much more spacious than it really was - The first bedroom was fine - roomy and had plenty of storage and hanging space - The second however was very small with just enough room for the two single beds and no hanging space at all - Probably just about adequate for a family with two young children but not 4 adults - The bathroom itself was fine but being downstairs with the only loo wasnt terribly covenient at night time. The stairs had a very low ceiling which for anyone approaching six foot were difficult to negotiate and the door to the lounge was also slightly lower than average - These things did not ruin the holiday but I think should be made clear when presenting the cottage for rent. The Kitchen and Dining area were also much smaller than they appeared to be on the photos and even two people in the Kitchen area made life difficult with eating for 4 adults was very cramped. - Kitchen utensils in the main were fine but lacking some everyday implements such as a potato masher slotted spoon etc and the kettle needs replacing as the lid continually came open at boiling point and we had to purchase some descaler as we found ourselves getting chalk in our tea etc. Overall - in spite of the problems outlined we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and as stated before we found the owners extremely pleasant and helpful - Had we been just 2 adults or 2 adults with small children then the accomodation would have been OK but most definitely not really adequate space for 4 adults.

Thank you for your feedback and your kind words. We feel that the cottage is clearly depicted on the photographs with relation to the sloping ceilings and the second bedroom, this bedroom does have drawers for the storage of clothing rather than hanging space. The bathroom is downstairs as the listing states and unfortunately there isn't room for a toilet to be added upstairs. We were unaware of the kettle not working but would have gladly replaced it during your stay had we been informed. We hope you had an enjoyable stay and thank you once again. Property Owner

It isn't absolutely pristine in decor, furnishings or fittings but it isn't advertised to be that. It is in fact just perfect for a walking / seaside holiday, very clean but not prissy so that you would have to worry about every footstep and splash. The small enclosed garden is dog safe which is a bonus The general area is super for beeches and sightseeing and is surprisingly very quiet compared to most other coasts we have seen. Thoroughly recommended and a place we'd go back to.
