  • "When we drove up first impression was not good at all Entrance has been very poorly maintained 2nd step is moving when you stand on it, pillar for gate is slack Grubby looking entrance, grass needs cut, weeds, steps & hand rail loose, needs a good power wash & paint Front door."

.....cob webs above door, needs a good clean Entered property, smell from the broom cupboard, discovered the smell was from the mop which was stored with the cushions for out door furniture, burn hole on outdoor cushions mop bone dry so therefore not used Went straight out to the decking & found that this area had not been touched, I understand that the leaves from the trees will fall but the area has not been cleaned for some time........cob webs around the windows & doors also the glass doors & windows are dirty We swept up as much leaves as we could,( 2 bits of dogs dirt, thought it was 2 acorns but was dried poo), this made a big improvement to the look of the decking, it still looked ok when we left for the next guests coming. ( swept the debris into pile behind plant pot took me 10mins) Hot tub cover was very dirty with birds mess so we gave it a good clean Outside table was very dirty, it took us 3 cleans to make it look clean so we can sit at it There seems to be some dampness coming from the sofas, I had to get a cover from my car to put down on sofas as I could feel some dampness.......also from the bedding in bedrooms Spot lights in living room with cobwebs 2 mins to brush Fridge freezer door away from slide, my husband got a screwdriver and fixed it Top fridge door hinge has come away from carcase only 1 of 3 lights working in bathroom noticed noted in notebook the same issue August 2022 ! Housekeeping need to up there game, there is a big difference between a wipe & a clean, stains on fridge & freezer doors also kitchen doors, blinds need a clean

  • "Beautiful lodge comfortable stay’ but the position of the lodge has no sunshine’ it was freezing on the decking due to backing into the forest area’ shelter around the hot tub would be good."

Other than that perfect for peace & chilling out, and just relaxing. Beautiful area everything around you that is needed , local pubs were great dog friendly.

  • "Lodge was lovely but a few things went wrong and there was nobody to ring at all."

No links, no telephone nothing. One was the hot tub which was the main reason I booked the lodge. It took until the Sunday evening to get this fixed it didn't get over 34 which was so disappointing. Also the tv couldn't work either . We tried to get this working but once again after Day 1 it wouldn't seem to connect properly. If you had had a contact I am sure these could have got easily sorted. A lovely maintenance lady eventually sorted the hot tub. If she had been there initially I think it would have been sorted straight away. Lodge is in great position with a great pub a mile away. Tried to not let the hot tub spoil things and still had a great time .

Hi , firstly I would like to say I am pleased you had a lovely stay Hot tub maintenance team contacted me as soon as you spoke with them , the hot tub was set on 40 degrees when you arrived on Friday and the temperature should of stayed at this throughout your stay , unfortunately the longer the lid has been left off the cooler the water will become I tried to contact you as soon as I heard from the maintenance team but unfortunately the number you left when you booked with Sykes was incorrect so I was unable to contact you , I therefore contacted Sykes and made them aware and they also received no contact from you over the weekend I did however receive a message from you on Sunday evening asking if you could have an extra night stay , unfortunately we could joy offer this as we are fully booked for the Easter holidays I feel if you had any issues and did not have my contact number you could of contacted me this way Hope to speak again soon and pleased you had a lovely stay Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our time at the Boutique Lodge but we did have an issue with the level of cleanliness when we arrived."

The blinds were very dusty and the one in the living room was stuck solid. There was a large amount of dust and small pieces of debris underneath all 3 beds. There was also a red stain on the mattress cover on one of the single beds (that had the appearance of dried blood). The oven was dirty and there were pieces of burnt food hanging from the grill area. The flush in the toilet was also faulty. We have stayed in many Sykes cottages over the last few years and this is the first time I have felt the need to comment on the poor quality of cleanliness. Having said all that, we loved the hot tub, the location of the lodge, the golf course, and the on site bar.

Thank you for your feedback and we feel that the boutique lodge is always immaculate and previous guests have left amazing reviews in the cottage 'visitor's book' On checking the property after you left the cleaner found the cooker and the blinds spotless along with the outdoor area as the hot tub maintenance team brush this daily when they check the hot tub I am sorry that the toilet flush was a little loose and the pole on the blind in main bedroom has broken but we have not replaced the blind as it can still be operated with the metal tip that is still attached. The cleaner does her best to clean under the beds and she feels that the blood mark you refer to looks like a foundation mark rather than blood. We do pride ourselves on every guest have a great time and if there are any issues during a stay we ask them to contact us so that we can assist, but we are unable to assist unless we are notified. Thank you again for your comments Property Owner
