  • "Lovely large, clean, spacious lodge, fully equipped, like a home from home, the view from the balcony was amazing."

Good location to use as a base to explore Northumberland and surrounding areas. The owner was really thoughtful and left a welcome basket for our arrival, kept in touch to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything. We would definitely recommend this lodge and will definitely book it again. Many thanks for a really enjoyable holiday.

  • "Lodge was lovely and clean."

Lots of thought had gone into what Guests may need in the kitchen and though out. E.g. shopping bags available to use, all kitchen utensils etc. Really positive and quick responses to queries from the owner. We had underestimated the journey time to the coast which was the only negative, but other than that it was a very enjoyable stay.

We have stayed at other places at this location, but for us this was absolutely the best. Lovely relaxing week in a south facing great lodge. Beutiful views near and far with all the creature comforts. The Owner Kim could not have been more attentive or helpful which we really appreciated. Thanks Kim for everything you did! • "Great place to stay very comfortable lodge."

Everything you needed was provided, including a welcome pack with all essentials on arrival. We didn't have WiFi as the owner was having some problems, this didn't affect our stay but I can understand it might affect some people. The lodges are quite close together too so privacy could also be an issue. Golf is free for the duration of your stay, we managed one round as weather meant the course was a bit muddy. All in all a great retreat for a well needed break away and lots to do in Northumberland.

  • "As stated at time of booking and now, this property has wi-if, it does not."

Having contacted the owner she suggested it would be cheaper for us to use our own data. This obviously cost us and was an inconvenience, due to the fact of COVID-19 you have to book attractions, restaurants etc before going. The owner told us that she had told Sykes to take this off the website. Also a great selling point of this property was the use of the golf cart for a round of golf on the adjacent course, it did not have one. I have sent a formal letter explaining the above.

The lodge is in a fabulous position overlooking the golf green and a woodland with views to the hills one way and the sea the other way. Kim the owner, was very friendly and helpful and told us about the best places to eat and shop. The welcome pack of milk, eggs, bread and other things came in very handy. Everything we needed was supplied in the lodge, it was also very clean and comfortable. We will certainly be staying again in the future.

The owner provided plenty of books cd's and lots of games to keep any children entertained. The lodge overlooks the golf course on a quite part of the site. The site is perfectly situated for exploring the wonderful Northumberland coast. If you are looking for a home from home base you won't be disappointed in choosing this accommodation.

There was a surprise of useful grocery essentials awaiting us, again a thoughtful addition. The lodge has super unhindered views over the golf course and is well placed for getting to Alnwick, Alnmouth and beach walks. Don’t miss Embleton, Bamburgh and Seahouses. We are familiar with this part of Northumberland which is breathtakingly beautiful at all times of the year, so cannot recommend the area and this accommodation highly enough.

Swarland is perfectly placed for exploring Bamburgh in the north to Morpeth in the south. Seahouses was only thirty minutes away and this was a perfect departure point for the Farne Islands and their fabulous seabird communities. Northumberland has so much to offer visitors. Alnwick castle and gardens are a must. There are so many excellent places to eat, country pubs to enjoy and towns to explore. The coastal towns offer fresh seafood for the connoisseur and magnificent beaches to enjoy. A really fabulous holiday experience in the UK.

  • "My wife and I were after a relaxing week away and this proved to be the perfect setting."

Althoigh on a holiday park, with some of the blinds down you could easily have believed you were in cabin on its own in the countryside. The view out on the golf course and the fields and trees beyond was fantastically picturesque and had the weather been nicer would have been perfect for an early evening drink on the veranda. The property was very clean and we'll supplied with facilities to help you cater for yourself and make the property truly feel like a home from home. The only recommendation I would make for more tech savy couples is to look at your data allowance options. There is an option to top up some Wi-Fi in the property but at £10 for 1 gig it doesn't stretch far. My phone company allowed me to double my monthly allowance to 20 gig for an extra £5 which proved a useful for Netflix when freeview didn't have any exciting options late at night. Situation wise you are within 15 minutes of two reasonable sized towns (Alnwick and Morpeth) for supplies or visits to local attractions and no more than 30 minutes from at least 10 coastal towns and villages which offer something for everyone (lovely walks, great food, clean beaches, historical sites etc).

It is just 8 miles from Alnwick, with its castle and garden, which features Europe's largest cascading water feature, an enormous tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden.
