  • "A beautiful holiday home!"

Each room had everything you could need. Would recommend leaving a hoover though, just so guests can run it through if needed. The bedrooms had lots of storage and were very comfortable. We spent most of our time in the lovely kitchen or the hot tub. Access to the hot tub could be improved, we had to grab a little set of steps from IKEA as it was difficult to get into (even for my 5ft 6 daughter). Brilliant idea for the keyless entry - no keys to lose. Already planning to book for next year. There is something for everyone nearby. Only thing we would ask to improve is to provide a black bin outside - recycling bin was full when we got there and was no black bin in sight at all.

The only complaint is the towels. They need renewing. Other than that we had a comfortable stay.

  • "Lovely exceptionally clean property that fitted our purpose great."

Loved the kitchen area and we seemed to congregate there fairly often. Didn’t get to take advantage of the hot tub unfortunately. Only downsides were: 1. On arrival late at night after travelling some 15+ hrs, we were surprised & annoyed to find we had to undertake an obstacle course to get round scaffolding that blocked our way to the front entrance. After informing Sykes, we found out that the property owners were also unaware & it was their neighbour that had erected the scaffolding for access to their roof for repairs. 2. The mattress on the front 2nd floor bedrooms bed was not good, my son & his wife not sleeping well in that room because of this. He said that you could feel every spring and had little support. 3. Final point would be the addition of a 2nd toilet would have been appreciated by a family of 6 adults.

  • "Lovely property, wish it could have been longer but just there for a family wedding so didn't spend as much time at the house that we'd have liked."

A 2nd toilet would be perfect when 7 people staying, apart from that it was perfect.

  • "We had a thoroughly enjoyable week in a lovely property."

The only thing we found to be missing was a chopping board in the kitchen. The other point which I'm not sure if the owner is aware, is dampness on the wall in the kitchen, where the paper is coming away. Would certainly recommend the property to friends and family and are looking to book again next year.

  • "The Property was easy to access."

We liked the key safe, no keys to lose! On our arrival the property was clean and situated in a prime location with free parking on the opposite side of the street. Whilst our stay was generally comfortable, we did have some niggles. There was 7 of us, 5 Adults & 2 children there was not enough seating in both the lounge and kitchen, only 6 stools in the kitchen where we ate. A 3seater sofa and 1 chair in lounge. Also only left 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels for bathroom use, luckily we took our own. We felt that 1 shower/bathroom for 7 people with use of a hot tub was not the best experience. There was no information pack regarding the use of appliances, heating or Hot tub use or disposing of rubbish/recycling and only 1 wheelie bin which being there for 1 week we filled! All in all a bit disappointed don't think we would return.

The property was ver6clean and everything was perfect. The owner couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic time and wouldn't hesitate to use the property again in the future.

  • "We recently had a longer-than-average stay of 2."

5 weeks at this property. While our stay was generally comfortable and the property is situated in a superb location, several significant issues detracted from our overall experience. Pros: Prime location. Enjoyable shower facility. Washer and dryer available—having a dryer was a major advantage. Dishwasher. TVs installed in every room. Property was clean upon our arrival, except for the dishwasher, which contained dirty dishes and mould. Great hot tub, though it required some maintenance (we bought chlorine for it over our extended stay). The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Clean, comfortable furniture. Each of the three king bedrooms had a dressing table/desk. Entry and exit from the house via pincode were seamless. Cons: We suffered an internet outage that lasted 5 days. We had to wait for a new router, install it ourselves, and fix the issue for the owner—a scenario that was entirely foreseeable and avoidable (owner changed service). This major inconvenience cost us approximately half a day. The property had only one wheelie bin and no recycling bin. The bin was already full upon our arrival and is only emptied fortnightly. There was only one bathroom and toilet. Only four bath towels and two hand towels were provided. There were no visitor parking permits available, meaning we couldn't park directly outside the house and had to use spaces across the road or up the street. Generally, this wasn't an issue, but non-permit spaces were occasionally all taken—on nice sunny afternoons, during weekend events, or in pleasant weather, the road was crowded. We had requested permits in advance, which are easy and inexpensive to arrange, but it seems the owner chose not to facilitate this. As a result, we often found ourselves waiting for parking spots or having to walk the entire length of the street with small children—another entirely avoidable inconvenience. The thin coil-spring mattresses were very uncomfortable. No dishwasher tabs or laundry detergent were provided. The dishwasher contained dirty dishes upon our arrival, including a wooden cutting board covered in mould. Lastly, we found the owners/managers quite difficult to reach.

  • "Hello. Oh my, what a lovely property."

We felt that we had stayed in the lap of luxury!! Not only was the house amazing but the victorian Park opposite that lead onto the pleasure Beach and Beach was the perfect location for our family. We would recommend to anyone who wanted to stay in South Shields. My only suggestion (for facilities and maintenance) would be that it could maybe do with a second toilet. Other than that we cannot fault our stay. Xxx

  • "The property was very clean and comfortable."

The cooking and laundry facilities were excellent and we were able to self cater easily as we're we on a budget. The location is excellent for parks, beach, funfair and the Leas. We were walking each day and it was lovely to come back and relax in the hot tub. Our only (small) reservation was that there were only 6 mugs, 6 towels and 6 'comfy' chairs in the lounge, when we had booked for seven people. Other than that, the place was fantastic value and we will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

  • "A fabulous property."

Lots of room and a great location. BUT - very disappointed in the things that make a stay comfortable. Despite 7 people, we were given only 2 bath towels. There was half a toilet roll. No bin bags. No dishwasher tablets. No welcome pack. No wifi log in details (you can get them from looking at the back at the box). No recycling details. A very poorly stocked kitchen (we ended up donating some saucepans). Such a shame these small but important things were missing as it really is a fabulous property.

  • "The property itself was fabulous and very clean and in an ideal location."

However I could not get hold of the owner at all on the mobile provided. Sykes themselves could not get hold of them. There wasn’t any welcome pack or instructions on how to use hot tub etc no information about what to do on leaving property or a anything about a parking permit, which in previous properties I have stayed in we have had all of these. My concern was if we could not have got into the property for some reason we wouldn’t have got hold of the owner as no one seemed to be able to. I rang Sykes 3 times previously to check on the parking and was told it’s fine there is roadside parking and then on our first night received a parking ticket which after 3 phone calls to Sykes still has not been resolved. I am very disappointed in Sykes as this is the first time we have used them and communication has not been their strongest. We are still awaiting a phone call about our parking fine. We even received an email half way through our holiday saying our holiday had been cancelled which resulted in me phoning once again. Very poor Sykes and this experience has totally out us off using you again. Other companies have been far better at communication and has certainly not caused us this stress and amount of phone calls.

Set over three floors, this inviting abode is a lovely place to call home while exploring the attractions of South Tyneside, including many sandy beaches and seaside fun.

Enter on the first floor, where you can come across the lounge; here you can put your feet up after a day of walking, tuning into the Smart TV in search of a favourite film, or simply enjoying the company of each other as you reflect on the day’s events.

Move downstairs to the ground floor, discovering the kitchen/diner and its array of appliances, well-equipped to assist with home-cooking, or order in a local takeaway and pop open a bottle of fizz.

From here you can access the enclosed patio, offering a sumptuous 7 person hot tub which is the perfect way to recover after a long day, while there is also a set of bistro table and chairs for enjoying lunch outside.

As your eyes grow heavy, head upstairs to the bedrooms; on the first floor lies a king-size and a sumptuous bathroom where you can prepare for the day, while the second-floor hosts two king-size doubles and a single, each with neutral tones and touches.

When you’re ready to explore, there’s lots to enjoy in this quaint coastal town; enjoy an exhibition of the fabulous South Shields Museum and Art Gallery, uncover years of history at the Tynemouth Priory and Castle nestled on a rocky headland, or head to the Ocean Beach Pleasure Park and enjoy a day of thrilling rides and fun fair activities.

South Shields is also home to two wonderful parks, South and North Marine Park, where you can feed the ducks and swans at the boating lake and enjoy a miniature steam train ride, before stopping off for some hot sour cherries and ice cream at the café.

If you wish to marvel at local sights, you can go for a scenic stroll along the coast to the renowned St. Mary’s Lighthouse, or travel a little further and check out the breath-taking Tynemouth Priory & Castle; or take a walk to the end of its pier to reach the Tynemouth Pier Lighthouse.
