  • "Our stay at Ireby House was perfect in every way."

We highly recommend this place. The house is light, airy and spacious. There is nothing to fault or improve on. In fact, the images don't do the place justice. We were very comfortable and warm during a cold and wet February break. Our labrador also loved the enclosed back garden, even in the rain! There are fabulous country views from the rear, yet the location is brilliant for quick and easy access to many places of interest, including the coast. The house is exceptionally well equipped; the owners have thought of everything. The soft, luxurious and very large towels, were most welcome: this may seem trivial, but in our experience, some 4/5* places offer thin towels well past their date! Rustling up a meal, and then relaxing was a breeze at Ireby House. The owner, Sarah, goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a great experience, and this was much appreciated. Should we return to the area, we'll definitely return to Ireby House. Angela

The enclosed garden was a god send for the dogs Spotless clean and everything worked as it should. Having 2 bathrooms between 4 adults was fantastic enough hot water for all of us to shower every morning without any problems. Can't recommend it enough just hope this doesn't mean we won't be able to get booked for next year once we've decided when we want to come. Thank you.

Very spacious with extremely well-equipped kitchen. Bathroom and wet room, so great facilities for two couples. Our group included a one-year-old, and all the baby equipment she needed was provided. Lovely welcome pack to greet us so we could have tea and biscuits whilst we awaited our Sainsbury's delivery! Small amount of road noise from the A1, but we only noticed it because we live in a rural location, which is very quiet.

  • "We have stayed at this cottage 3 timees previously, this time during a pandemic was different but a nice break non the less as the cottage is always beautifully presented, HOWEVER during covid 19 in 2020 to adhere to the guidelines, Sarah and Philip had no choice but to remove ALL of the items that previously made it like home, no cushions, door stop, ornaments, games, books etc, which left the cottage we know and enjoy looking a bit sparse, that said we realise this is not their fault and for that reason we have given the cottage the top marks we always do as we know how lovely it is normally and would love to return again when the pandemic has passed."

It was superbly clean, comfortable and quiet with so much space for our family with two teenagers who need their own space. The views from the sunroom and lounge were beautiful and the kitchen had everything we needed, a true home from home as we love home cooking. The utility was spacious and an extra bonus and the property had excellent access to Morpeth ( a wonderful town to visit, has the spirit of Lyme Regis we felt) and the amazing local beaches with miles and miles of incredible sand. We loved it so much we booked a week next summer even before we had finished our week there!

The furnishings were all of exceptional quality and extremely comfortable. The setting was beautiful with wonderful views from the large lounge and sitting area and it was a joy to sit out in the pretty garden at the table listening to the birdsong and soaking up the last rays of the sun looking out over green rolling fields. There was everything you could possible want in the kitchen, every amenity and utensil you could conceivably require. The owners were around if you needed them and even solved a TV issue (after a minor power outage which disturbed the settings) with great speed (thankfully as it was World Cup semi final!) Simply cannot recommend this property enough.
