    “The entire stay was enjoyable.”

    The rooms and the bathrooms were all good and bright. The linen and the beds were comfortable as well. Spacious living room. The kitchen was well equipped and we had no issues at all during the stay

Therefore we were not sure what is to be done.

The property

Tranwell Cottage is a wonderful detached house situated in Morpeth, Northumberland.

Inside, the owners have created a beautiful holiday home with a modern interior that offers a real home-from-home vibe.

Stepping into the property, you are immediately greeted with a modern kitchen displaying high-quality fixtures and fittings.

With lovely light grey fitted units, wooden worktops and patchwork tiles, this space gives a lovely feel and encourages home cooking.

From the kitchen, along the laminate floored hallway is a spacious open-plan living room and dining area.

The lounge has a range of contemporary seating, including a corner sofa, ideal for families.

Kick off your shoes and relax with a refreshing beverage in front of the flat screen TV with Netflix, just so you can keep track of all your favourite shows, with the lovely stone fireplace adding a wealth of character to the property.

The dining area has a large wooden table and two wooden benches and can seat up to eight people.

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one king-size and one twin.

The remaining bedrooms can be found on the first floor with one king-size with an en-suite shower room and one super king-size, which can be made into twin beds upon request.

All bedrooms have a minimal decor, with a lovely set of contemporary wooden furniture, including matching bedside tables and fitted wardrobes.

On the ground floor, there is a family bathroom, which has been renovated to provide stunning fittings, with a free-standing walk in shower and a bath, ideal for a long and relaxing soak in the tub after a long day of sightseeing.

Off-road parking is available for several cars.

The Ancient market town of Morpeth is a short drive away with a wide range of restaurants, shops, as well as pubs and bars.

The property is close to the Whitehouse Farm Centre, a country farm with opportunities for feeding the animals and a play area for children.

For those interested in historical sights, visit Mitford Castle, an English castle dating from the end of the 11th century.

It is a scheduled ancient monument and a Grade I listed building.

There are sights not to be missed.

The lovely market town of Morpeth is situated centrally in Northumberland and is an ideal base from which to reach the coast or countryside. Offering the remains of an historic castle, lovely parks, riverside walks, ancient architecture and churches and an old chantry with a bagpipe museum, Morpeth is also ideal for visiting surrounding attractions such as Druridge Bay to the east, with miles of golden sands, the vibrant city of Newcastle to the south, Alnwick to the north, with its castle and gardens and the National Trust's Wallington Hall to the west. There is also access to the Simonside and Cheviot Hills, with good walking amidst beautiful countryside.
