About the property

Tucked away in a tranquil setting on a charming working farm, Wallhouses Farm Cottage is a characterful stone dwelling providing a truly scenic setting for your next UK escape.

Encompassed by the luscious open fields of the Northumberland countryside, whilst lying just a stone’s throw away from the popular city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, this characterful, pet-friendly cottage is perfectly suited to avid walkers and families alike.

Leave your mud-splattered boots by the front door, as you enter into this homely abode and discover an attractive kitchen complete with all the essential appliances, where you can pop on the kettle and rustle up a tasty afternoon snack before taking a seat at the breakfast bar and discussing the days adventure with loved ones.

Retreat to the warmth of the living/dining room that has been beautifully decorated with cheerful yellow hues and a plush corner sofa, as well as boasting a sleek flat-screen TV and striking woodburning stove, together providing a relaxing spot to unwind with a movie or your favourite TV show.

As you begin to tire, whisk yourself off to the first floor and be greeted by three inviting bedrooms comprised of a double, a twin and a single, each styled with pretty oak furnishings and complete with a TV for added entertainment.

Just a few steps away a light and spacious bathroom awaits you, home to a large tub with a handy overhead shower, allowing you to choose how to best prepare for the days ahead.

The real pièce de resistance of this arresting home-away-from-home is the fabulous, enclosed garden, home to a luxurious hot tub, bar area and a barbecue, ideal for those warm summer evenings entertaining your nearest and dearest.

Make the most of your time in the area with days spent hiking through the magnificent fields of Hadrian's Meadow and Walbottle and Throckley Dene with your beloved canine companions.

Uncover the enchanting remains of Hadrian’s Wall at the centre of Corbridge, before grabbing a tasty pint and a bite to eat down at the local pub.

Wander the independent stores that line the streets of this historical village, and cross Corbridge Bridge over the River Tyne to Dilston Castle.

Hop on the train and head for the neighbouring town of Hexham, home to the 14th century prison of Hexham Old Gaol and the imposing 12th century church of Hexham Abbey, or visit the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne with attractions and landmarks aplenty.

See the magnificent stone fortress of Newcastle Castle, the Site of Anglo-Saxon Church and Morden Tower, now a popular music and poetry venue.
