The property

A charming end terraced property in the coastal town of Amble-by-the-Sea in Northumberland.

This tastefully decorated cottage is a stone’s throw from the sea and offers families and couples a pleasant and tranquil base for their adventures on the Northumberland coast.

Step through the front door and find yourself in an entrance porch with a handy cloakroom for storing walking boots and coats.

Carrying on through the hallway you will find a cosy living room with a dining space at one end, as well as a sofa and sofa bed arranged around a woodburning stove at the other.

The large kitchen is also downstairs, featuring a range cooker and traditional Belfast sink, as well as a door that leads out to an enclosed patio garden, complete with garden furniture.

There is also a utility room.

Upstairs is the well-maintained family bathroom and two elegant and neutrally decorated double bedrooms, one of which can become a twin room on request.

Walk to the end of the street and you will be faced by a small grassy area with the sea just beyond, and just on the next street is the premises for the local market, selling a selection of fresh food and household gifts.

In Amble town centre you will find an array of shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as a beautiful marina and harbour.

In the vicinity there are plenty of attractions, such as the nearby towns of Warkworth and Alnwick with their castles open to the public to explore.

About the location

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
