  • "Cosy flat , good base to explore."

    My only minor criticism is with Sykes descripition.While there is a private car park it is not big enough for all the residents so the space is on a first come first serve basis. This isn't made clear by Sykes. After a days outing don't really want to start looking for alternative areas to park when we thought we had booked with private parking.

  • "Very good base for discovering Amble (few minutes walk to the harbour) and the surrounding area."

    Comfortable apartment, enjoyed seeing the sea every day. We were lucky with the weather - very warm for October and we saw lots and lots of butterlies out the lounge window. I also enjoyed the antics of the local ravens pecking at the moss on an adjacent roof.

  • "2nd time visiting Amble for a holiday but 1st time visiting Wynding apartment and what a gem!"

    Everything you need and more for your stay and the welcome tray of delicious goodies and flowers was a lovely touch. The apartment comes with free stunning views from the front room and kitchen window which we never got tired of looking for the whole weeks holiday. Definitely would revisit and recommend to anyone who is thinking of visiting Amble of which has everything you need in walking distance. Pubs, restaurants, shops & more.     The apartment itself is wonderful with everything you need when away from home. It's extremely clean and super comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend it. A welcome tray on arrival was most appreciated as we could make a cuppa whilst unpacking.

    Very quiet area . Shops and restaurants within walking distance. Would probably benefit from blackout blinds in bedrooms, we had lovely weather and consequently were waken very early by bright light . Would definitely recommend the apartment and hope to return in the future .

  • "A lovely apartment situated conveniently for local amenities and for exploring the local area."

    It had stunning views and every evening we watched the house martins flying right outside the windows. The hamper of biscuits, bread and jam was much appreciated and there were tea bags, coffee and milk. Even fresh flowers in the lounge! The beds were really comfy and the apartment was very clean.

  • "The flat is lovely, well equipped & comfy beds & sofas."

    The dining table is a hard bench that squeaks when you move around the table. Fantastic views. Great Wi-Fi ( we connected using the QR code & no issues). Only thing I would suggest is a little desk & chair for Laptop use please. Teenager used the bench & dining table, so uncomfortable. The views out the window are really great. Bedroom blinds have old broken turning poles. Outside arriving, it looks like an old 60s care home, the hallway is bleak. Once in the flat on floor 3 it is much nicer.

  • "Beautiful and comfortable apartment with great views from living room window."

    Kitchen very modern and was well stocked with utensils. Beds were very comfortable. The high street and harbour were just a few minutes walk. I was unable to log onto Wi-fi as password didn’t work I felt the cleanliness of bathroom could have been improved e.g taps had grime and silicone around bath needs replacing. There was no cream bucket provided for recycling or poo bags for the dog. This was listed as being provided in information book which was very informative We had to put our hands through the letter box when closing front door when we left the apartment so maybe a handle on outside of door would solve this issue. All cons listed did not spoil our stay as we really enjoyed our stay

  • "This is a fantastic holiday let."

    I have never stayed anywhere so clean and so well appointed. Real thought has been given to the comfort and need of those staying here. A very welcome unadvertised "welcome hamper" was left in the kitchen. There was a very good range of cooking utensils, pots and pans and even three cafetieres. Also welcome were the very good binoculars left in the living room - used and appreciated on the puffin boat trip. The apartment is light airy and a joy to stay in. One quibble - the key safe is very hard to operate The flat itself is very near a bus stop - we were carless and an easy walk to the harbour.

We sprayed it with DW40 and the next guest had no problem. I really appreciate you raising this as we need to know in order to sort it out.   • "Our second stay here and Im sure we will be back next year."

    Nice apartment, great location, good parking, clean and tidy with nice views. Would be nice to have a smart tv but everything else was just lovely. Amble is lovely place to stay. We recommend Running fox cafes, various ones around and about , a car journey away but the food is amazing. Lucys landing in amble, the fish shack and Jaspers. They all take dogs and have amazing food. Lovely beaches not far away so you can walk for miles. A really lovely place to stay and try the ice cream at Spurreli as well .....

  • "A delightful apartment, with private parking, very well and comfortably furnished and equipped."

    It has the advantage of being close to shops and a very good variety of restaurants within walking distance. There are a large number of interesting places to visit nearby, an endlessly fascinating working fishing harbour, and lovely coastal walks. Some residents may find the working of the central heating thermostat confusing? Perhaps a brief guide would be helpful.

  • "Lovely apartment, well appointed and even had a welcome pack."

    Just a few niggles - bedside light switch faulty to left of double bed, gaps in seal on folding shower panel, difficult to close bath plug and had to clean a lot of hair from bath plughole for water to drain properly, lights in kitchen over sink and waste bin too low - despite being careful banged my head on both several times.

    Nice kitchen with lots of equipment. Great area and good parking. Great communication from the owner. The two flights of stairs were fun when you'd been walking each day but manageable. The hoover was like a brick which was a shame as we like to hoover often as we had a dog with us to keep it clean and tidy. We would definitely stay again

    We didn’t spot anything missing that we would have needed. We appreciated the large fridge and freezer. Perhaps detailed instructions for the gas fire would be helpful, although we didn’t need it on our visit. The owner contacted us in advance giving us helpful information about the apartment and the surrounding area. We found Amble well equipped with a variety of restaurants, and handy food stores and a pharmacy within a few hundred yards. There are plenty of interesting and beautiful places to visit in the area.. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked the apartment for next year.

  • "Once again we had a fantastic holiday staying at The Wynding apartments."

    The apartment has everything needed. It is clean, quiet and spacious with safe parking outside the apartment. The apartment is perfectly placed with an easy walk into Amble or alternatively Warkworth - or you can drive to neighbouring towns along the coast within 20 mins. There are lots of beautiful long beaches which are dog friendly and plenty of coffee shops and bars nearby after your walk There are are also lots of excellent restaurants in Amble (or take-aways) providing really good food which can be walked to. Definitely somewhere we will be returning again.

    Lovely views from the lounge and kitchen. The apartment was modern, clean and C19 safe. Lots of excellent restaurants nearby which we tried out. Comfy bed. Safe place to park the car which could be viewed from the apartment. All in all a lovely place to stay and would definitely return.

    All cleaning products and a simple but detailed information sheet was left explaining what to do etc on departure in line with govt covid rules. The apartment is beautifully clean and very well equipped for our stay and is in a little fishing village. This village was spot on with covid rules again and felt to safe and organised (a few big cities could learn a lot from them)!!! It’s a great base to go in Northumberland because we have visited so many lovely places. The coastline is stunning and the beaches are amazing We should have been in Portugal but we certainly got the next best thing We will definitely visit again

    As good as the photos. A lot of thought clearly went in to its refurbishment. Fab welcome basket. Very well equipped and comfortable apartment and views in the distance to the sea and estuary towards Warkworth. I have been to Northumberland approx. 15 times and would say this is one of the best apartment/cottage I have stayed in.

  • "A super apartment in a great location for exploring Northumberland, the scottish borders as well as Newcastle and Durham."

    Our weather wasn't great but the apartment was so well appointed that it was a pleasure to be in and we always found places to visit and things to enjoy. We would highly recommend this property. Even having visited Northumberland before, it was exciting to see the changes since we last visited and there are certainly plenty of lovely cafes to stop for tea and cake ! Amble has also developed its restaurant selection and there was a cross section from take aways through to nice pubs, ice cream parlours at the harbour and some super new restaurants like Jaspers, The Old Boathouse on the quay and its sister The Fish Shack right on the harbour as well as Sea and Soil in the high street. We even saw dolphins swimming as we stood on the pier in Berwick upon Tweed. A really interesting town for a wander. Lovely cafe in the YHA and the same street has some interesting independent shops. As we journeyed into Scotland, we called at St Abbs. Stunning scenery and an amazing art gallery called Number 4 gallery. A fantastic find and a real cross section of objects, paintings, jewellery and other surprises.

    Amble the town itself was wonderful with the people so friendly really made it a special place, with plenty of places to eat and drink, shops, ice cream hmmm. Great harbour with cruises to see the local Puffins, fresh fish market etc etc. The beach's were breath taking clean white sand that just went on forever all of the one's we visited were dog friendly, horses friendly amazing places. Places to visit were endless and beautiful countryside.

  • "After a very long journey, it was a pleasure to arrive at such a lovely apartment, and to find that the owner had left some pastries, tea cakes, with milk and bread in the fridge to get the holiday started."

    The apartment is in a great location for the local shops, restaurants and local bus services should you need them. There was a very informative note pack for help with white goods and heating in the apartment and lots of information on places to see whilst your there. Loved Northumberland and its pretty villages, has a very wild and natural charm.

    Amble is a good Base for exploring Alnwick, Warkworth. Bamburgh castle, we even had a day in Edinburgh which is a great city the castle is stunning and great for shopping.

  • "The apartment was perfect for our needs."

    In a really good location just a stones throw from the shops and restaurants and not too far from the harbour and its little pod shops. The apartment was clean and modern, a lovely basket of goodies were waiting for us on arrival and the cupboard were stocked with basics such as teabags, salt and pepper. The apartment was easy to find, very convenient for trips up and down the coast and is a lovely part of the world to visit for a break. We would definitely recommend a visit to this accommodation.

  • "Fantastic holiday!"

    ! Beautiful newly renovated, pristine apartment situated in the heart of Amble. Excellent facilities all within a few minutes walking distance, we hardly had to use our car unless we left the town to go exploring castles. Janet is the most welcoming host we've come across, with a welcome hamper waiting for us on arrival, we settled in straight away. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, we visited the itialian and Indian eateries that were recommended in the welcome pack and they didn't disappoint. Both of us and our border collie loved it here. He especially loved the short walk to the beach which is doggy friendly. Will definitely be coming back here in the not too distant future. Thanks again Janet.

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
