  • "A lovely, cozy cottage in an excellent position for visiting many areas of Northumberland."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. The garden is large, enclosed and lawned - perfect for dogs. The excellent welcome hamper was thoughtful and delicious, with local produce and the owners own eggs! Very much appreciated!

Thank you so much for your kind review Delighted you had a great stay And look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

Feels nicely remote, but a great location, and central to much of the county. Hosts were very helpful. Would love to come again.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a very quiet location."

Well equipped, owner has thought of everything and provided a welcome pack and even a homemade cake which was fantastic given it was my husband’s birthday! Gorgeous views and great if you like horses. The only issue we had was that the pillows were too soft and we woke up with sore necks but then we should have said something as there were alternatives we didn’t know about. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Thank you for your review I am delighted you both had such a lovely stay And I’m so disappointed the pillows were too soft for you. What a shame - We could have offered a memory foam option it you had asked. Thank you again Yorkie. Property Owner

  • "Everything was perfect and tranquil for us and our two rescue dogs."

We booked the property to get away from fireworks as where we live in Marske by the Sea we have two rugby clubs and two cricket clubs within two miles and they all have firework displays on different days. The accommodation was lovely and clean and there was an enclosed back garden so the dogs could go out there when needed. We were also impressed that the owners left us bacon, sausage, butter, eggs, bread buns and milk as well as tea bags and coffee. It was a thoughtful touch even though my wife had ordered a grocery delivery from Sainsburys to arrive an hour later. The driver wondered where he was heading but he knows next time. The location was superb lovely and remote, we could park and unload right outside and it was so quiet and we were fortunate to be blessed with sunshine most of the time too. We could come and go at our leisure and as National Trust members we found two places virtually on our doorstep (Wallington and Cragside near Rothbury) though we were limited to how much walking we could do due to a recent knee replacement operation. Amazing countryside with Rothbury and many other places not far away to visit. We will definitely be back in the future.

Thank you so very much for your fantastic review! Lovely to read that you & your Dogs had such a peaceful relaxing time. So glad you love The Granary and our beautiful Northumbrian countryside as much as we do Really look forward to welcoming you again soon Property Owner

  • "Wow! What an amazing place!"

We booked a very very last minute 3 night stay for a family of 4 and a dog, we just needed some peace and quiet and to get away from it all, well it certainly did not disappoint! It's Soooooo peaceful, views for miles, amazing owners, best welcome pack we've ever received. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, super clean, gorgeous, comfy, lots of little touches that just make it wonderful. Lovely walks around the paddocks, the horses are very friendly and love to come up to you. If you want somewhere that's peaceful, with lovely views but close enough to explore Northumberland you won't go wrong booking here, really wish we could of stayed longer, very much hope to go back again

  • "The property was just what we needed to rest and relax."

It is so quiet, nestled in a lovely courtyard surrounded by horse paddocks. There are many places you can walk your dog around the site and can even say hello to the friendly horses who run to see you when you walk down the driveway. The house itself is perfect and so comfortable and cosy. It has everything you need and more with all the touches that make it feel like home. Everything has been thought of even down to dog towels and coffee pods for the coffee machine. The house is beautifully decorated and finished to a high quality. A lovely welcome hamper was left with a beautiful cake for us to enjoy. The hosts had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. It is close to many of the sites of Northumberland and makes it a perfect base to explore. The hosts were really friendly and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend this property to stay especially if you want a rest from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.
