  • "My sister stayed in the Humbleton Cottage, along with her daughter and our mother (who has Alzheimer's and mobility issues), and brother + 2 dogs."

This was arranged when my original booking in Melrose fell through due to the flooding of the National Trust property. This cottage in Wooler proved to be a very good alternative, arranged just before Christmas when the original booking was cancelled. Two very helpful ladies at Sykes assisted me in finding this alternative. It is right next to The Tankerville Arms and owned by the same people. I stayed with my family in The Tankerville Arms (booked directly) and Elaine, Paddy, and their team were very friendly. It made for a good Christmas as we were able to get together in the Inn. We will return I am sure and my sister will book the cottage again.

  • "What a lovely cottage in a lovely part of the country."

Great with little kids (washing machine very handy, tv in de kids room so parents could get a lie in, little play area in the pub garden behind the cottages). The pub is also lovely and serves great food! And everyone is so nice and helpful, will definitely recommend!

  • "Despite its traditional charm, the cottage is equipped with modern amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and smart TV in all rooms."

The cottage is situated a short drive away from the stunning Northumberland coastline, making it an ideal location to explore the rich history of Northumberland. We will be back and highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit Northumberland.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in Humbleton."

Bed was really comfy, great WiFi/TV. Owners seemed to have provided almost everything you could want except an oven glove (tea towels thin and burnt your hands) A few points to note- no milk , very little washing up liquid/handsoap. One bin liner. No washing machine tablets or cleaning products and no recycling instructions. Also bedrooms were very hot (windows closed as road traffic loud) so a fan would be good if not necessary for coming months. Sofas were not comfortable and bench and tables flimsy but other guests might not think so.

  • "Fantastic cottage and great location for exploring the local area."

The Tankerville arms hotel next door is great for food and drinks. The menu has been reduced but suited us well. The staff for the hotel and cottage were all very friendly and accommodating no matter what we needed it was provided. We will be back very soon.

  • "Cottage is lovely."

Seemed recently refurbished, immaculate, comfortable and clean. Lovely and spacious for two adults and a child plus two doggies. Bed comfy and everything and more you’d expect for a self catering cottage. Only negative was the Tankerville Arms itself. There is a menu online plus one was printed and left in cottage. Menu was very varied and sounded lovely so we had planned to eat there on the first night. Pub was empty when we arrived (tea time during the Easter weekend) and was told that the blackboard menu was all they had. 4 starters and 4 mains. Not the 3-4 page menu we had seen in website or that was left in our cottage. When we questioned this we were just told that was all they had. By this time my 5 year old son was starving so we ordered for him and went elsewhere. He didn’t eat much of the food, chips weren’t really cooked properly and he’s not usually fussy. I think the menu needs to be removed from the website and not printed and provided for guests as it’s misleading. We would definitely stay in cottages again but won’t be eating at the pub.

  • "Fab little cottage in Wooler, which makes it a great base for exploring Northumberland."

The beds are very comfy and the living area is great for winding down after a day out. The warm welcome in the hotel next door is great along with the ales and coal fire. Our dog was very settled there too.

  • "Humbleton Cottage is immaculate and located in the lovely village of Wooler."

Locals are friendly and very welcoming. Facilities in cottage are good. Living area is comfortable and everything you require is provided in kitchen including dish washer, as well as TV in living room and each of the bedrooms. However due to it’s design there are no wardrobes upstairs in bedrooms but hangers are located on doors and there are lots of drawers. We will stay here again and hopefully next time there may be a designated parking area for Humbleton as it wasn’t clear if gate could be opened so car could be left outside the cottage. Thanks Skyecottages for your services.
