    “The welcome hamper was very much appreciated after the long drive.”

    Local shops and places to eat all listed in a folder to help us find what we wanted. Location was great as we were able to explore in all directions. The cottage itself was huge and had more than enough room for the 5 adults and toddler in our group.

The property

A charming semi-detached single storey cottage in the centre of the Northumberland town of Wooler, just a short drive from the Cheviot Hills.

Tastefully furnished throughout with easy access to local amenities, making this cottage a perfect retreat for families and groups of friends alike.

The cottage is made up of an open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen and dining table and chairs, making a great social space for preparing and enjoying some home-cooked meals.

There are plenty of comfy sofas in the sitting area in front of a welcoming electric fire making a good place to relax after a full day out and about exploring the area.

There are three spacious bedrooms, including two super king-size doubles at the property, all of which have en-suite facilities.

From the dining area are French doors leading up to the large enclosed lawned garden with a good-sized patio area and furniture; a good place for some alfresco dining or even just a relax with a glass of something chilled.

A 3 minutes’ walk takes you to the centre of Wooler with a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants as well as takeaways.

The Cheviots foothills are just a short stroll away with walks and cycle routes that will delight those seeking outdoor pursuits, whilst a short drive will take you to the Heritage Coastline, with endless beaches and castles galore.

Wooler is just a short drive away from the historic town of Alnwick with its famous Castle and Gardens, and the well preserved Garrison town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Whatever you decide to do, this Northumberland cottage is a wonderful place to enjoy a great relaxing break.

Known locally as 'The Gateway to The Cheviots', Wooler has a selection of hotels and eating places and offers a magnificent location for exploring the whole of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Situated on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, Wooler is just a short drive away from the historic town of Alnwick with its famous Castle and Gardens, and the well preserved Garrison town of Berwick-upon-Tweed. Chillingham Castle with its ancient herd of wild white cattle and Coldstream, just over the Scottish border, are also a short drive away.
