Hosts were discrete generous and welcoming. Absolutely returning and already recommended to friends and family.

  • "Excellent property as described."

We did have a few issues with internet connection which was beyond owners control. Everyone has problems it is how they are dealt with that marks out good customer service. Communication was excellent and owners even offered alternative connectivity issues. For these reasons I would not hesitate to recommend this location.

Secure garden was brilliant for 2 dogs and 2 children. The house was just what we needed.

  • "Lovely property on a busy working farm."

Great for 6 people with plenty of space and good sized rooms. The garden is perfect for children and dogs as it's fully enclosed. Beautiful surroundings (including the lake) as long as you are happy to be near the cows. Friendly owners and farm workers and even had a tour of the farm, which was great. Good location to explore lots within an 1-2 hours drive. Would definitely go back!

  • "I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, this is a really beautiful, peaceful little gem."

It had everything we needed for a restful weekend with the family. The kitchen is superbly stocked with equipment so you don’t need to take anything with you. Lovely comfy beds, and beautiful views that go on for miles. It was difficult to tell from the photos, but the garden is also fully enclosed which was brilliant to be able to let the dogs out to play. Highly recommend Tilly’s coffee shop near by if you fancy a trip out for delicious tea and cake! Just looking for excuses now to rebook the carthouse!

The beds were all very comfortable with nice clean fresh smelling linen. Kitchen was equipped well and a lovely welcome pack with fresh bread and milk was a nice touch. Personally I would describe The Old Cart house as very comfortable.

About the location

BUNBURY

Nantwich 7.8 miles; Chester 13.9 miles; Stoke-on-Trent 26 miles.

The village of Bunbury lies at the western edge of the Cheshire Plain some 3 miles from Tarporley and 12 miles southeast of the city of Chester. Little is known of its history prior to the Norman conquest but it is generally accepted that the name is of Saxon origin and it is thought that there was a Christian place of worship on the site of the present parish church long before 1066. Early references to the settlement call it Bunan byrig, the stronghold of Buna. The village today has a supermarket, three pubs and the striking St Boniface Church which is recorded in the National Heritage List of England as a designated Grade I listed building. Eight miles away lies the popular market town of Nantwich, home to regular markets throughout the week and monthly farmer’s market showcasing the best of produce from the local area, whilst there are also many events throughout the year including The Jazz and Blues Music Festival at Easter and the famous Cheese Awards in July. Further afield lies the historic, walled city of Chester, filled with a range of independent shops and welcoming eateries catering for all taste buds. Make memories in the North West from Bunbury.
