  • "A very well positioned cottage in a lovely area of Ludlow."

The cottage is well maintained with a good private parking area and excellent central heating. We thoroughly enjoyed the gentle 15minute walk into the centre of Ludlow to sample the coffee shops and the interesting buildings. There was easy driving to Church Stretton, Leominster and Hereford all of which were very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "Inglenook is a lovely warm and cosy cottage , it was very clean and tastefully decorated, the photos don’t quite do it justice when you first enter it make you feel welcome and at home."

It is about 15 mins walk to the centre of town ( the tree lined track was fine for us though it is summer it did rain rain quite often and I could see it being a bit muddy in winter , it is laid with stones though and there are plenty of car parks in town). We found the cottage really easily and the track was fine, in fact it was really lovely driving down the little tree lined lane and it means the cottage is tucked away in a the trees making it quiet and peaceful even though it’s in the town, you wouldn’t know it when sat out in the pretty garden where you can sit in a sun trap or have shade if you prefer, we enjoyed eating steak from the butchers in Ludlow in the evening sun in the garden ( I do think some loungers or hammocks or those garden bean bags would be a great addition. ) The kitchen is well stocked (you could even bake a cake) there is washing up liquid, wash powder, salt&pepper, tea, coffee, sugar and some little packets of biscuits , I think a little welcome hamper of local produce could be good here as they have Ludlow brewery, appleteme juice, Ludlow cheese, a chocolatier and a fantastic butchers to name a few, though I understand this might put the price up on what is very reasonably priced cottage for what you get, maybe some of the companies would do a deal, just a thought as the local produce is fantastic. The bathroom is smallish but it has everything you need (powerful shower) and is very clean. We found the living/dining plenty of space for 2 and if are grown up daughters had have joined us as planned there still would have been ample space (though maybe a queue for the bathroom). The beds are really comfortable, The super king and double( which was used as a retreat from someone!! Snoring) were sooooo comfy, normally it takes a night or two to get used to a different bed but we slept like logs instantly and the pillows were comfy too. I have a bad back but had no problems with it in these beds. The cottage is fantastically placed for exploring wider in Shropshire and Herefordshire with lots of castles and country parks etc, Stokesay castle is so picturesque and The Shropshire discovery centre at craven arms was a great find , with free parking, a cafe, toilets and loads of walks in beautiful countryside. Eating out is a must in Ludlow, bistro 7, the French pantry and the clive arms at the Ludlow food centre were all amazing, lunch at the Tia restaurant and bar was also fantastic. We would definitely stay here again Katherine and James do a great job and respond really well and quickly to any questions, we can’t wait to come back as we still have to eat at the feathers and Csons and hopefully might catch James playing jazz in Bishops castle.

  • "A lovely cottage in a lovely location: spotless, comfortable, private, welcoming."

Tea, milk and biscuits on arrival much appreciated. Wall to wall greenery and birdsong made the patio area so enjoyable. The cottage is very well equipped and the shower is particularly nice, all appliances easy to use. Ludlow is steeped in history and kept us beautifully entertained for the week - the Castle and St. Lawrence’s Church are well worth a visit. Altogether a very pleasant week and would love to return.

As others have said, the c.100 yds of access track is unlit and can get muddy, not a problem if you come with suitable footwear and a torch. The location is good, 10-15 minutes walk into Ludlow, with takeaway food options on the way back. Owners are accessible and helpful.

  • "Property very cold on arrival no heating on all windows ajar all air vents open no fire lighters or kindling in log tin by the log burner."

We put on the boiler closed the windows and air vents but after 1.5hrs we were still very cold so decided to leave. We contacted the owner who came around to put on the heating and light the fire. On arrival he said sorry the heating should have been left on timed he then went to look for kindling and fire lighters but came back without any. He said if we leave it is up to us but did not offer any compensation just said he had to go he had a gig. We are both in our 70s and our health comes first and we were so cold we decided to leave. Please also be aware there is an unlit muddy drive to the property that you need to walk up and down to go to the town. In the owners favour the property was very clean.

We are sorry that you decided not to stay at Inglenook. We had been expecting your arrival the previous day. A few of the windows were left on the latch so that the washed floor would dry quickly before your check in time. The central heating is extremely effective and heats the property quickly. Normally our heating is set to come on twice a day. Our guests can also choose when the heating is turned on and off. Unfortunately it seems that our previous guests must have switched it off. There were logs, kindling and matches at the property to light a fire. My husband is a musician and had to leave to work, but he arrived at Inglenook within 10 minutes of receipt of your message and did all he could to help. Property Owner

  • "Lovely bungalow, very clean throughout."

Comfy beds, fresh smelling bed linen & soft towels. A great location, about 10 mins walk into Ludlow itself and to the nearest supermarket. Ample room for 5 adults using the bungalow as a base during the food festival. Owners kindly rang us to explain the lounge would be cosy for 5 adults but we found it suited us and used an extra chair from the bedroom no problem. The wood burner would be lovely in colder months. Would use the property again. We did find locking the front door really tricky.

I also think people should be made aware that although it is a bungalow, it isn't wheelchair friendly, as there are steps to both doors, the passageways too narrow, and that there is an unlit dirt track leading to the bungalow, which is also wheelchair unfriendly.

  • "The property provided clean, warm and welcoming accommodation - especially needed during the June 'summer' weather we experienced!"

A major bonus is it's location - a short walk into delightful Ludlow with Tesco, Aldi & the train station closer still. The weather prevented us experiencing the garden during our week but the quiet location would enhance any break ... given the weather. It was good to come back to a cosy bungalow with CH that added to the welcome at the end of each outing. The brief on the property should be 'broadened"' to expand on the description of the 'leafy lane'. It is a narrow one way track with an un-made surface ... thankfully we never met another vehicle but the track could be improved with a liberal spreading of chippings to reduce mud especially on footwear.

Perhaps because we were a family and able to be a bit more "familiar" than another group might have been, we didn't have any real difficulties. It did take some time to get going in the morning, showering one after the other, but there was always lots of hot water and we had no early morning plans! The weather was cold, but the house was easy to keep warm and though we didn't need the woodfire, it was cheering in the evening. Also, the beds were comfortable; the kitchen was very well stocked with every necessity; and (most important for some) the wifi never let us down! We had a lovely family holiday in Ludlow and at Ingelnook, thank you.

  • "Lovely little cottage and very well equipped."

We were left a bottle of wine, chocs and a pint of milk which was a nice welcome touch. However, we did find it a bit difficult for four adults sharing one bathroom so probably wouldn't rent that particular cottage again. Shame really. There is a small third bedroom that would make a great little second bathroom but then it could only house four adults and not five. Ample parking and pretty little garden too.
