Very attentive owners who provided a generous welcome pack which was much appreciated. The Cottage was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the location on the banks of the River Teme and the weather was nice enough to take advantage of the outside space overlooking the river, taking in the view and wildlife spotting. This location is also very convenient for walking into town. The provision of a parking permit by the owners was also very welcome. Ludlow was as lovely as ever. A very enjoyable stay.

It was quirky and full of character but was equipped with everything we needed. We really loved the cobbled courtyard overlooking the river. Ideal for sitting and having your breakfast. The welcome hamper was the best ever and the bread, tea, coffee and milk lasted us throughout our stay! Other treats provided as well. The icing on the cake(literally) was the delicious fresh cream Victoria sponge freshly baked and left in the fridge for us! The beds were lovely and comfortable and the bathroom and shower facilities very clean. Ideally situated for exploring Ludlow which is a wonderful little town, with a great castle, lots of fab places to eat and really picturesque river walks! Be prepared to walk up hill to the town and back down to the cottage! Also the stairs in the cottage are steep and narrow but taken carefully are fine. We are certainly fitter than we were when we arrived and would definitely recommend and come again. Thank you Gillie and Peter for being perfect hosts and letting us stay in your charming cottage. Kind Regards from Janis and Andrea

It is a small quaint cottage with beams etc, but the space has been used well, and the main bedroom is actually really light and spacious. Castle, shops, market, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance. The cottage was a really good base to stay with plenty of places to visit in every direction...we only scratched the surface. We had been a little concerned about having to find roadside parking in nearby streets, but we were always able to find a parking space even though we were there in high season so don't be put off by that. The patio overlooking the river is a wonderful space to sit in the sun. The owners provided lots of treats on arrival. The complimentary on street parking permit is a help but only allows parking near the property for 2 hours and, if you need to park for longer than that, the car park is 0.2 miles away and is an additional cost (although not much). I think this should be made clear in the property's listing.

Dear Sally Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this feedback ,we always appreciate and act upon any observations and thoughts given by our valued guests. We are so glad you have had such a nice visit but are sorry the complimentary on-street parking permit has caused confusion and that the parking permit txt we sent you on your day of arrival once Shropshire Council have confirmed your car registration is in place ‘for the duration of your stay’ was not clear enough. For the attention of future guests : the complimentary on-street virtual car parking permit ,once in place at 10:30 on the day of your arrival, is valid for the duration of your stay in all BlueZone areas for 24hrs a day(nothing to display in your car) We also encourage our guests to contact us at any point during their stay if an issue such as this arises Many Thanks Peter & Gillie Property Owner

The sound of the weir upstream and the river running past the terrace was so soothing. Our hosts left a most generous welcome pack, which was indeed very welcome and a lovely surprise! The stairs were a challenge (as advised) and although we managed without mishap, a solid banister rail would be much more stable than the rope, which is attractive but does not feel safe. The terrace is lovely but would benefit from a couple of comfortable chairs for a relaxing read. We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend this beautifully presented cottage.

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinions we always appreciate it and glad you liked our cottage To highlight the seating arrangements on our riverside terrace for future guests there are : 2 wood & cast iron benches(both 2seaters) a cream metal table and chair set (2chairs) and 3 standard dark green plastic garden chairs.please refer to the photos on the website for reference. Our only issues were the mainly the stairs, they are very very steep and with a rope banister not easy to climb up or down (I actually fell down them injuring my arm and foot, but it could have easily been much worse). The stairs should be mentioned in the advertising. There was also an issue with the toilet not flushing correctly on two occasions. The only other advice I would give to anyone staying here is the pub (The Charlton Arm) that is just at the end of the road, only serves lunch upto about 2pm and you need to book, we tried twice to eat there but we’re unsuccessful.

It's comfortable, well-supplied (including thoughtful touches like cling-film and tinfoil) and very easy to settle into; and an interesting building in its own right. Don't be fooled by the main road: it's a quiet spot, unless you count the waters tumbling over the weir and trickling over rounded stones just over the back wall (which happens to be the perfect height for leaning on and taking in the sun, while admiring the frankly idyllic view). It's also very convenient for a short walk into town, or over Ludford Bridge to Whitcliffe Common. Peter and Gillie are efficient and very keen to ensure a comfortable stay: not only did they pick me up from the railway station, they were entirely unflappable when I missed two trains on the way and arrived two hours late, and Gillie's excellent Victoria Sponge was a very welcome comfort. My only caveat is that, in keeping with an old building, the stairs are steep, narrow and twisty.

Bedroom and bathroom really well appointed and very comfortable. We felt that that the sofa in the lounge was not very comfortable. The kitchen area was sufficient bearing in mind the size of the property, however, there was a shortage of some items including a small sharp kitchen knife and wooden spatula and spoon for the non-stick pans. Overall we had a lovely week in the cottage which is perfectly placed for exploring Ludlow and the surrounding area. The owners could not have been more helpful.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your week at our cottage. Thank you for taking the time to give valuable feedback as we try to act upon any issues raised as promptly as we can therefore wooden cooking utensils have been sourced and a small sharp knife added to the cutlery drawer. Re the sofa; as this is a Victorian workers cottage there is always a compromise between size vs available space and what will actually fit through the doors hence the choice of a 2 seater sofa of the required dimensions we do however regret our sofa did not met your expectations. For future guests to reference this Marks and Spencer made to order 2 seater sofa is from the Olivia range as was purchased in April this year as was the Chesterfield winged back armchair. A tapestry cube footstool is also located in the living room. Kind Regards Peter & Gillie Property Owner
