  • "The cottage is perfect."

Clean and comfortable with large garden and off road parking. Sadly when I was there the weather was too cold to take advantage of the garden. A bit of a walk into town uphill all the way but no problem if you are reasonable fit and able. I would happily book again and almost certainly will.

The kitchen was extremely well equipped. The whole cottage was very clean and cosy. I would highly recommend Penny Cottage. Trisha and Michael

  • "Penny Cottage is a credit to the owners."

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage( I have run a cleaning business for years .) and the many thoughtful touches: fresh flowers, fruit, milk , chocolate, tissues, cosmetics and toiletries, torches, umbrellas and even perfume were very much appreciated. The cottage is very near the centre of Ludlow so the car can be left on the drive whilst you explore on foot. The cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished with decent furnishings and appliances and has an ample supply of cutlrey and crockery. I was a little surprised to find no wardrobes or chest of drawers in the bedrooms just a little frame with a few hangers but to be fair I don’t fully unpack anyway. One slight problem was that the property is advertised as having a fridge/ freezer and fridge. It has only a fridge . There is room for a small freezer which for people like ourselves who like to cook and intend coming back to stay in the property would be the cherry on the cake! Well done! We had a lovely week at Penny Cottage and are very confident that anyone who books the cottage will not be disappointed with their choice .Thank you for all your hard work. Much appreciated.

  • "What a lovely cottage, immaculately clean and beautifully furnished throughout."

A very well equipped kitchen/diner makes cooking and eating in a pleasure. The location is lovely and makes it a great base for visiting both the town itself and the surrounding area and the private parking is a real bonus. I hope to return soon. (Not for publication: Not a criticism but the details for the cottage say fridge/freezer but having bought some ice cream we couldn’t find a freezer! Perhaps this should be amended?)

The attention to detail at the property is second to none and the standard and quality provided is first class. No detail is overlooked, and the stylish owners clearly treat this property with the utmost love and care with no expenses spared. We would not hesitate to book it again!

  • "Penny cottage was really cosy and comfortable and extremely well-equipped."

The availability of dedicated parking was a definitely bonus in Ludlow. It is only a short walk up into the centre of the town, admittedly up a hill but that is a the nature of Ludlow. This was our third visit and we would definitely look for Penny cottage when we come again. Highly recommended.

  • "A lovely cottage, well appointed, immaculately clean, very handy for Ludlow town."

We particularly enjoyed the shortbread and fruit, thank you! My only drawback is the location of the bathroom. With it being downstairs in the extension, it's a bit of trek to the loo during the night! Otherwise a lovely place.

  • "Lovely cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay."

Great welcome pack on arrival. Very close to all the shops and the castle. We were car free for the week and it was easy to get to Shrewsbury for the day by train. Highly recommend Aragons and the Queens for excellent food. Sunday lunch at the Queens was delicious. Would stay here again if returning to Ludlow. Thanks Penelope

  • "We shall try to visit this lovely cottage again, unfortunately this time I had fallen ill, but the owner was very kind and friendly and helpful and her spacious, cosy cottage a really comforting place to be!"

We were feeling very welcomed: fresh flowers, most delicious biscuits, fresh fruit... so nice! Penny Cottage is located on a quiet road, everything within walking distance: Whitcliffe Common, the town centre, railway station, Tesco... - very convenient as we were travelling by train and ferry from Germany: no car needed! And Ludlow is such a lovely wonderful town, there seems so much more to explore. Looking forward to our next visit!

Shower was good and there is a large bath if you prefer to wallow. Nothing missing that was needed to make my stay comfortable which is always a good sign. A nice welcome note on the table to greet me. Nice size TV and lovely lawn. Quiet house and Neighbours and quiet area at night. All pluses and no minuses. A rare occurrence well done Penny Cottage and Sykes. A Happy customer. PS Lots of nice little hidden places for coffee in Ludlow and lots in surrounding Towns.

The owners, Penelope and Malcolm, have thought of everything - even down to a spare toothbrush! The kitchen had everything we needed, the bathroom has a large bath and extremely powerful shower, and although downstairs wasn’t a problem to us. The beds were all comfortable and the two single bedrooms were ideal for our 2 children who prefer their own space. Ludlow is a very pretty town with many shops and places to eat. The castle is well worth a visit too via a delightful walk along the river. We would highly recommend Penny Cottage.

There was a great attention to detail with little extras that we weren’t expecting. We were three generations and the only slight negative to be aware of was the lack of an upstairs WC so nighttime trips to the bathroom were slightly less easy. Realise that it wouldn’t be possible to rectify however feel it’s worth highlighting for info. First trip to Ludlow was really lovely - beautiful town and area. Will be back!
