The property

This three-storey Georgian house is just 3 minutes’ walk from the very centre of this beautiful medieval town that boasts some 40 independent shops, an excellent market in Castle Square every day except Tuesdays and a cornucopia of fine pubs and restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the house - no problem with drinking and driving when you stay at 21 Lower Raven Lane.

Shopping is a delight in Ludlow; the town is packed with independent shops including butchers, bakeries, delicatessens, clothes shops, ironmongers, gift shops, book shops, antique and craft shops.

Off-street parking for one car and living/dining space opening onto a charming walled courtyard, creates a perfect base for enjoying the many festivals and events that Ludlow has to offer.

The historic town centre is pleasantly busy at weekends and heaving during the weekends of the excellent Festivals in May, September and November and buzzing during the brilliant two-week Ludlow Fringe in June, but when you’ve had enough of people you can retreat within just three minutes to the total peace and quiet of Lower Raven Lane.

21 Lower Raven Lane incorporates a homely interior within this older building so you will settle in straight away - the living room contains two sofas to seat six and, in case you may wish to entertain, a dining table that can extend to seat eight.

The stylish kitchen has an induction hob and dishwasher and is extremely well-equipped to meet your every need.

The charming enclosed and planted courtyard, with comfortable seating for four, provides a perfect setting for early evening drinks on a balmy summer evening.

Upstairs on the first floor is a spacious double bedroom with dressing table, chest of drawers and large wardrobe; a large family bathroom; and a utility cupboard housing the washing machine and tumble drier.

Continue up another set of stairs to the second floor to find the other cosy double bedroom and adjoining twin-bedded room, both of which have copious storage space, plus a shower room with a spacious shower, hand basin and toilet.

Be sure to visit the medieval castle, resting in the heart of the town beside the River Teme; and when you are ready to venture further afield, jump into your car parked directly outside the house to explore what stunning Shropshire and Herefordshire have to offer (Additional cars can park in Pay in Display spaces or a long stay carpark, 10 minutes’ walk away where the maximum charge is £2.40 for a full day).

There are no less than eight wonderful National Trust properties within a 45-minute drive.

For keen walkers, head to the Mary Webb Trail, The Shropshire Way, or walks in the Mortimer Forest, or simply enjoy a stroll along the river and around the medieval castle, For further details of where to go, see the Location description below.
