  • "Had property for 4 weeks throughout December for family reunion from around the world after 2 years of Covid restrictions."

It is a lovely comfortable well furnished and really well equipped kitchen. Plenty of seating everywhere throughout. We were able to do a proper Christmas meal and hold birthday celebrations with ease. We had a 3 year old with us and soft toys and all necessary equipment were provided, a lovely Christmas hamper, and plenty of laundry as required and a great outside garden area, used BBQ but not hot tub! Nothing seemed to much trouble. Lighting in dining room a bit dim at this time of year and we did have some problems with heating and a roof leak all dealt with very quickly - would happily go back again.

Thanks for your lovely comments Rosemary, so glad your long-planned reunion went well! xx Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely few days at the cottage , it was very clean and the tea , milk ect was very welcome."

Just about everything you could need was supplied from plenty of cups through to towels for the hot tub . We visited Twycross zoo ,Conkers ,a great place for children to run around and the little train was a big hit and we enjoyed a couple of meals in the The Stanhope Arms two minutes walk up the hill.

So glad you enjoyed your stay! K Property Owner

  • "Our holiday cottage was beautiful and we very much appreciated the fact we were able to have a break due to the difficulties the last year or so has presented for everyone!"

We have been going away as a group of ladies every year over 28 years now staying in cottages across England. We’ve used Sykes for several occasions too for this. Every year it becomes easier to book, keep track and appreciate the reminders. I still like the personal touch of speaking to someone to book the cottages when possible and this was possible this time round too. The cottage was lovely and clean. The layout was perfect especially as I’d had a hip replacement (very short notice and really didn’t want to miss out on going away) and was able to have downstairs bedroom and bathroom facilities which were a god send! One lovely bonus moment was watching the cows and young calves bouncing about in the field right by the cottage!! There’s always a compromise with most cottages we stay in and on this occasion it was the busy road alongside. But we knew to expect this as we always check the map before booking. To be honest it wasn’t an issue once inside and definitely not noticed with the bubbles of the hot tub noise! We all left wishing we owned the cottage and had the lovely decorative taste of the the owners! We were tempted to book their other cottage for another occasion knowing their standard of provision but sadly it was not big enough for us all. We love our opportunity to go way together with our friends and it’s cottages like this that make it possible to keep everyone happy so thank you!! Kindest regards Clare and friends !

Thanks for your lovely feedback! It's an absolute pleasure to have people use the cottage to get together after a couple of horrible years. Best wishes and please come again, K xx Property Owner

  • "The photos online didn’t do the cottage justice at all."

It was absolutely stunning and the owners thought of everything that you may need during a stay there. Would definitely go again

  • "Beautiful cottage, extremely well furnished and fully equipped with all you could need for your visit."

Bedding and towels were prestine. Only negative is that you can hear passing traffic and single beds in one bedroom were rather uncomfortable for young adults - probably fine for young children. Lovely convenient location and all local amenities fully detailed along with helpful suggestions for all your needs during the stay. Would highly recommend.

  • "The cottage was fantastic, very well equipped for everything we needed for our trip and more ."

The owners had thought of everything from towels and plastic glasses for the hot tub, cushions for the outdoor furniture and a parasol, a barbecue , a paddling pool for little ones, every utensil you could think of for the kitchen and excellent quality furnishings, bedding and accessories. A lovely welcome hamper on arrival was a really nice touch too. It was so clean and tidy on arrival and we were very happy with all aspects of the cottage, it was by far the nicest place we have stayed in.
