  • "We were extremely impressed with everything at Westerly Nook."

The property was comfortable, modern, and immaculately clean. It's in a new-build housing estate in the quaint Willington village, so if you're looking for a middle-of-nowhere cottage with no neighbours, look elsewhere. For us though, it was perfect for a base and to do work from while we were in the area. Contrary to another review complaining about a barking dog from a neighbour, we had no issues at all. We would be happy to stay again when next in the area. Thank you.

Thank you to you both for the lovely review. And the property was honestly spotless of handover, thank you for looking after the Nook. We hope to see you again soon. Aimee and Team :-) Property Owner

  • "A perfect holiday home to explore the surrounding area."

We spent a lovely week at Westerly Nook which is situated on a very small, and quaint street. Our 11 year old daughter loved the park opposite which was an added bonus. Only a 5 minute walk into the beautiful village of Willington,10 minutes to Mercia Marina along the tranquil canal towpath, and a stones throw from some fabulous pubs and Restaurants, The Dragon being especially good! The accommodation was excellent, spotlessly clean, modern, and with all the amenities and facilities we needed, and more. They even had a SKY Q box with all the channels and movies. All in all the accommodation was really comfortable and we also thought it was very good value for money. We visited Derby, Stoke, Burton and into the Derbyshire Dales which were all a short drive away and the highlight was our 2 days at Alton Towers, only 20 minutes away, so the perfect accommodation for you thrill-seekers. A delightful home from home, and we will be going back on our next trip to the area! Thank you to all the team at Westerly Nook :-)

Thank you Mr D and Team. You have been fabulous guests with some great feedback which we will absolutely take on board. We would love to see you return soon. Thanks Aimee and Team Nook. Property Owner

  • "Westerly Nook was absolutely delightful - very clean and comfortable, well equipped with all that you’d need."

Close to amenities in Willington, Repton, Derby and Burton and lots to do in the area. Considering it’s on a housing estate, I found it to be really quiet too. As it’s less than 5 miles from my daughter, I’d definitely consider staying there again.

Thank you so much Mrs P we do work super hard to keep it clean and well maintained between guests. We love Willington, so much to do and eat if you get the chance. Makes it very much worth while to get such a lovely review. Please do email me if you have any recommendations to further improve Nook life. Aimee Property Owner

  • "Overall the place was very clean and well equipped - I was impressed with the kitchen utensils."

However, there were several downfalls. The home feels very claustrophobic. There is no parking except on the pavement which is illegal. I understood there was no garden area, but you basically also have no view of the outside except for two windows. all the windows and doors to the side and back of the property are tinted so you can’t see out, and are also locked which causes two problems- you can’t get any airflow during warm weather, and can’t leave the window open because the only one downstairs you can open is open to the street. The second problem with this is that it is a fire hazard - were there a fire in the house, you would be locked in on three sides. The other problem we found was that the neighbor (owner) has a yappy dog. When it’s outside (day or night), you can hear it yapping and also hear the owner calling it, clapping to it and whistling to it. Minor issues - no toilet brushes (apparently a hygiene issue - I find it more of a hygiene issue to have to use bleach and toilet paper and my hand to clean a toilet). There were no basics - salt, pepper, etc. Last thing - there were no flannels provided, we had to buy our own. Overall nicely appointed but awful location and would not recommend.

Hello Tina The side door is locked as it leads to a garden which isn’t accessible by Nook guests and is advertised as so. The dual aspect kitchen/living room area has a large window, most small properties would not have more than one window and so we chose to frost the back window looking on to the back garden to allow the room to remain well lit. But also allow privacy to the garden. There are 7 windows, only 2 of which are locked. We have had a fire check and can confirm that there is an exit window or door in each room. We also provided a fan for warmer weather. Parking on a pavement is only an issue on a main road not a residential estate, but you didn’t need to park on the pavement if you felt this was an issue. And it is clearly advertised. I’m sorry for the neighbours dog. Unfortunately that’s something I have no control over. The warm weather has meant everyone has been outside. We wouldn’t buy toilet brushes for hygiene reasons as we stated, multiple guests use the property, they aren’t from the same home, neither are we, the toilet brush is for cleaning the toilet with cleaning products and for getting under the seat areas, not for cleaning leftovers markings, which is what it gets used for, then you are basically leaving a brush full of poop particles to fester in that little holder for us to clean or the next guest to look at. We don’t provide food of any kind, it’s a holiday let property. However we made the choice to provide guests with luxury towels and linens, a fully stocked cleaning cupboard, hand soap, toilet roll and kitchen roll all of which is not a requirement as an owner. I’m sorry you felt the location was awful for you. We have some award winning eateries within walking distance, the lovely canal and marina, a train station and we are very close to major roads such as the A50/A38/M1 etc. we have a well stocked co-op with major supermarkets all within a ten minute drive, and as for retail we are in the middle of Burton on Trent, Nottingham, Derby and Ashby de la zouch. But I guess it’s what you’re looking for. We hope you had a safe trip home, thank you to you for stripping the beds for us. Many Thanks Aimee Property Owner
