  • "Lovely spacious property with everything you need for a comfortable stay."

Ideal for anyone with limited mobility with the wet room being a great advantage. Plenty of space for parking your car. Hosts were so welcoming and helpful but never intrusive.

  • "The cottage was perfect - apart from the fact that the single bedroom is not wheelchair accessible due to the sliding door not opening far enough."

We were able to access the middle bedroom for my mum, but this meant that I had to sleep on the sofa as I am short and my husband had the single. The owners happily supplied us with an extra quilt and pillows. The bungalow is in a fabulous location, clean, well equipped and comfortable. 100% recommended.

John greeted us when we arrived and brought my father some duck eggs. There was a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which was a nice touch. Bolsover was an ideal base to explore the surrounding area chesterfield, Nottingham, Bakewell etc. The bungalow it's self was lovely and provided everything we need for our weeks stay. The only criticism we had was the sofa was uncomfortable as it sank when sitting ( think the springs have gone ?? ) . Would definitely recommend a stay

It is kept in immaculate condition with plenty of space, comfortable beds and 2 good showers. The conservatory is lovely to sit in early morning and late afternoon and 2 fans are provided as it can get hot when the sun is out. The kitchen and large utility room have everything you need during your stay. There is a really nice patio area and large garden which our dog loved to run around and he made friends with the resident geese, chickens and George the turkey. We had a wonderful week at this house and would highly recommend. Jane and John the owners are very friendly and are just next door if there are any issues during you stay

  • "We were very impressed by the standard and cleanliness of the accommodation, and by the welcome we received from our hosts."

Every little detail had been thought about, right down to a box of useful items guests might have forgotten - as I realised I had forgotten my toothbrush, this box was very helpful! My 88 year old Mum thought the accessible bathroom (one of two bathrooms) was great, and our hosts even provided a chair for use in the shower. On arrival we were greeted with a box of freshly-baked scones, jam and clotted cream, along with eggs laid by the hosts' chickens, a lovely bonus. The location was perfect for our visits to friends and relatives in Nottingham and Derby, and for touring some of the stately homes of Derbyshire. Even the weather was perfect! A lovely week, enjoyed by us all, so thank you!

She provided us with a welcome pack which included home made scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and fresh eggs from her hens, fresh eggs were also provided throughout our stay. We were not lucky with the weather, torrential rain, but at least the accommodation was comfortable. The wet room facilities were great for my 84 year old Mam. It was also a pleasure to sit in the sun room and have some of our meals in there. The garden is also lovely if you get the weather to use it.

The large conservatory, well-sited for the evening sun, proved the be an excellent venue for family activities on chilly evenings. The welcome pack and fresh eggs left on the doorstep were particularly appreciated. The town is relatively small which meant that all the local shopping facilities were within walking distance but free parking is available and parking proved to be no problem. The bungalow was well-sited for getting around the local area and as a starting point to enter the peak district.

We had a lovely warm welcome from Jane when we arrived giving us all the information that we needed for our stay. She let us know that she was just next door if we needed anything but that she would leave us alone to settle in and enjoy our break. We were so pleased to find homemade scones and plenty of other treats in the kitchen but even better was the bungalow itself. It's so homely and is so clean! We immediately felt relaxed which led to us having a really enjoyable stay. Both Jane and John spent time with our youngest son, letting him help with the chickens which made his year and means we must return to see them again! Jane and John are great hosts who have the balance just right of being on hand if you need them but also not imposing on you as guests there. We would recommend Cherry Fields and will certainly be back! Thanks

  • "Wonderful accommodation in perfect location for exploring surrounding area."

Spacious grounds/accommodation set in a friendly housing estate. Information prior to arrival tells you everything you need to know and one of the lovely owners greeted us on arrival. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated. The conservatory is light and airy with heating and furniture, a lovely spot to have breakfast! It also has access to a paved area with outdoor seating. The laundry room has everything you could need with a huge washer and separate tumble dryer. The kitchen is home-from-home, everything you need to enjoy your stay - we had a chef with us and he was impressed with the facilities! The dining room is comfortable and cosy with a walk-through into the lounge with laminate flooring throughout. The furniture is comfortable and clean and there is a TV for entertainment. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable with clean and lovely smelling linen. If you are like us a pack far too many clothes then you'll be pleased to know there is loads of cupboard space! The bathrooms are modern, spotlessly clean and the showers are lovely with heated towel rails - there are more than enough big fluffy towels for everyone. Extras - fresh eggs, home-made scones, jam, clotted cream, teabags, salt/pepper. There is also a box in the laundry room with "things you might have forgotten" in - shampoo, razor, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, sewing kit etc. The owners have done everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and we only saw them a couple of times so they didn't intrude on our time there. We woke up one morning to another bowl of fresh eggs on the doorstep - it's the little touches like this that make a wonderful holiday even more special.

  • "The bungalow was spotless and clean and a good size."

It was kind of the owner to leave us scones, jam and cream for arrival not to mention the fresh eggs as well. Jane allowed us to walk the dogs right up the end of the joint garden/drive which was kind. There was plenty of off road parking behind the property and the conservatory and wet room were highlights. There was an abundance of storage space and many items were provided for use like hair dryers, etc. There were very few negatives, for example the heating was quite loud in the night so it is advisable to keep it a little lower to avoid being disturbed. The decoration was quite dated in places but most of us found it quite charming. Overall it is a lovely property in walking distance to town, the Co-op, the Castle and the central park so I would certainly book it again in the future.
