  • "Property exceeded expectations."

Owners very helpful with things eg. highchair. Did some walks in the Peak, on the far side of Chesterfield. Sheffield was surprisingly trendy for my adult children.

  • "Everything was as perfect for our annual girly secret Santa break."

We were all impressed with the quality and comfort of Greenwell cottage. Also Bolsover is a lovely wee place to relax and take time out from busy home life!

  • "Stay was great, house is built to a fantastic spec especially for value for money and comms with host was superb."

Loved the hot tub! Only flag for comfort, as a relatively tall group, the ceiling heights in the house (particularly in the upper bedrooms) were a little challenging with where the beds were positioned etc. Not one to prevent us enjoying ourselves but definitively worth considering if you stay for a longer time. For future: would be great if water pressure would mean you could wash up and shower at same time, as that was a bit tricky with 8 people trying to get out and ready.

  • "The property looked like it has just been renovated to a very high standard."

The furniture was good quality; good bedding; soft thick towels. Outside was beautifully maintained too. The hot tub was great + fit 8. We were all very happy with our stay. Thank- you so much to the owners, that obviously take pride in their property. (One tiny thing -we could have done with a large salad bowl.)

  • "Greenwell Cottage was beautiful."

Very nicely decorated and furnished. Hot tub and court yard was lovely to sit out in the sunshine. Central location with B&M and Morrison across the road, so you could get everything you could think of! Wetherspoons 2 minute walk away! The owners were really friendly and helpful, letting us check in early, daily care of the hot tub and recommendations for the area. We booked Sunday lunch at their restaurant which I would recommend, it was really nice. Free car parking just behind the cottage, if you have more than one car. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely area, we went on a lovely walk around the area. House well equipped with everything you could need. Clean and tidy. Hot tub was amazing and was up to temperatures on our first night.

  • "The cottage was perfect for a relaxing weekend with the 'girls' (of a mature age!"

) to celebrate several big birthdays amongst us. The cottage was immaculately furnished, great kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, bedrooms, and 2 lounges. Location was perfect too - right in the town centre, but the courtyard garden of the cottage was completely private and cocooned, a few minutes' walk from the castle, and opposite a fabulous restaurant (Sanctuary Garden) for dinner on the Saturday night. The hot-tub was incredible - one note, don't be put off by the warning on EVERY post-booking e-mail I received from Sykes saying that there was no guarantee that it would be available the first night of the stay due to not being heated up in time. I was very worried about this, considering we were only staying 2 nights - but on contacting the owners the week before our arrival, it turned out that what it meant was that it couldn't be guaranteed to be ready in time dead on time for a 3pm arrival, but would always be ready by early evening on arrival day. All in all, a wonderful stay and we thoroughly recommend the cottage! Very easy to find, just 10 minutes off the M1.

  • "The property was beautiful and well-presented, bed-linen, towels etc were all of the highest standard and very clean."

There was plenty of seating for the number of guests. The bathrooms have been carefully thought-out and space used well to accommodate walk-in showers and a bath. The Christmas tree was a nice touch, as was the welcome card and balloon. Communication with the owner was also excellent, and the hot tub was exceptionally clean (although some pegs outside to hang towels etc would have been helpful). The property is in a central position within the town - with convenient access to all local amenities. We knew that the property was non-smoking and this was a deciding factor in our booking. However, it wasn't until the owner contacted us with directions prior to our stay that we were made aware that there was to be no smoking within the garden area also - meaning that one of our party had to stand in the street each time they wanted a cigarette. It would have been helpful to have known this at the time of booking. This was the only negative to what was otherwise a great stay.

The cottage is in a great location, very central to everything but tucked away in the middle of the town centre. It is beautifully done to high spec and well thought out. The welcome basket was a nice touch. We would love to visit again one day, our children are still talking about all the time they spent in the hottub!
