  • "The cottage was lovely and Sarah was an absolutely perfect host."

I visited the stables nearly every day and I was welcomed by the horses and their owners.

  • "The cottage was perfect!"

We stayed over Christmas and Sarah was very accommodating, letting us check in early so we could avoid the Christmas traffic. There was even a Christmas hamper for us on arrival with some Yorkshire goodies! The cottage itself was ideal for two adults and a dog, there is a good oven (we cooked Xmas dinner for 6 in it!) it is beautifully decorated, clean, tidy, cosy and comfortable. Our dog loved it, as the farm is enclosed, you can walk safely straight from the cottage to fields, sometimes joined by the friendly farm dogs as well. As long as you are happy running in the roads, there are some lovely running routes through the countryside too. Couldn’t recommend this beautiful spot more highly.

Sarah was a fantastic owner and it was a lovely little property that was clean and modern. A perfect escape. It was really lovely being welcomed by the dogs. Very homely setting and we really felt welcomed. Plenty of utensils at the property for cooking, nothing was missed. Very central to York, Lincoln, Doncaster and Hull if you are fancying a few City visits. Looking forward to booking again in the future.

Everything you could want in a rental was provided and more. • "What a fantastic stay!"

Pictures look fabulous but it’s even better in real life. Sarah was so accommodating and friendly. Great location for a peaceful relaxing ‘baby moon’ before our little girl arrives in 7 weeks time. Property is a home from home, I especially enjoyed the big beautiful bath and outside area. Our dogs had a fantastic time and the farm dogs were so cute especially Cookie the black lab. Lots of lovely walks nearby especially by the canal. Fish lake Mill restaurant is a must along with the Old Butchers for lunch. Highly recommend, so much so we would have stayed an extra night however it’s that popular they were fully booked!

  • "Just returned from a week at the Cow Shed at Pear Tree Farm."

We had a great holiday. The cottage was extremely comfortable and spacious for two people (and our border collie). We wanted a relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got. I had worked and played in one of the top colliery bands in this area (and the country) many years ago. I left in 1982 so the holiday was partly for sentimental reasons and to renew some acquaintances. Many of the former collieries are now country parks, which is excellent if you like us have a dog and/or just want to do a fair bit of walking (e.g. Frickley Country Park). The Trans Pennine Trail is also less than half a mile from the cottage. I had never heard of this before but there is plenty about the trail on the web. The trail mostly follows canal towpaths in this area. We also went to Sandall Beat Wood, near Doncaster Racecourse. All interesting and enjoyable. The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The 'welcome pack' was also much appreciate on arrival. Their dogs were also friendly and it was good to see them most days. We have no hesitation in recommending the cow shed at pear tree farm.

A very warm welcome by Sarah and her 4 beautiful dogs. This really made it special as occupied my dog who enjoyed meeting up daily for running in the vast surrounding area together. We both enjoyed the peace and quiet and friendly welcome and will certainly be returning to carry on with the many places to visit. Fantastic for its location and amazing walks. Certainly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy the countryside and relaxation with a very friendly welcome. Looking forward to our next visit. Rich, Marilyn and Tog.
