  • “The accommodation wasn’t clean on arrival, the kitchen worktops were extremely dirty and we had to deep clean it before unpacking our belongings.”

The house itself was full of cobwebs and dust and is in need of a good deep clean. Such a shame as the property is beautiful. The rubbish bins were overflowing from the previous guests, and excess bin bags were stacking near the children’s playground. The house itself was full of cobwebs and dust and is in need of a good deep clean. Such a shame as the property is beautiful. The rubbish bins were overflowing from the previous guests, and excess bin bags were stacking near the children’s playground. We were contacted by the owner and Sykes early in our stay as the key provided to us unlocked an annex with an extra bedroom, utility room and games room, which we began using. We were asked to vacate the annex by the owner and Sykes, who had apparently tried and been unable to contact me on my telephone no. (Which was correct on my account details), Sykes advised this was due to maintenance and the owner advised that the annex was rented out on a different rental contract. Immediately this raised concerns as the annex shared the same key as the cottage and was not secure or private. I responded to the owner to highlight my concerns about security, the cleanliness, and the issues around waste disposal and he failed to address or take action on the issues, Sykes disappointingly failed to respond. I would hope that Sykes will contact me to address this matter following my feedback.
