The cottage is spacious and comfortable, and generally well-equipped. Plenty of parking space with attractive outlooks over the grounds and surrounding countryside. In the main we enjoyed our stay here and the following comments are intended to be constructive. Better lighting is needed in the lounge to facilitate reading once the sun goes down (the owner provided an extra table lamp when requested but even then the overall lighting was still inadequate). The bathroom lighting was also unsatisfactory with three small ceiling lights giving only enough light to move about safely, but totally inadequate for applying make-up or for shaving and showering. The bathroom extractor fan which is linked to the lights is extremely noisy and urgently needs attention. Better siting of mirrors would be helpful. The Velux blind in the bathroom has a broken part which means the blind won't stay shut. One of the kitchen blinds is also defective. The weather was pretty cold for the early days of our visit during which the heating was inadequate in the lounge where either a larger radiator or supplemantary heating is required. The standard of cleaning was generally good, apart from a large cobweb in the bedroom window. Both toilet pans needed a thorough clean.
