  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely spacious and well equipped bungalow set in a quiet cul de sac and backing onto a park ."

It felt like ‘home from home’. The furniture and decor was not ‘cheap and cheerful’ or ‘tired’ as often found in holiday let’s. The village shops are only a short stroll through the park - the independent butchers and greengrocers are well worth a visit. Our dog enjoyed the walk past the castle to the village pond and beyond .

  • "This is another excellent property hosted by Sykes."

The owner was excellent with communication and instructions for your stay. We was surprised by the size of the property and it was very well equipped. Bedrooms was great size , we used the master as there was only the two of us and we had the most comfortable sleep in it. We would book this property again definitely. • "Recently stayed at Magnolia Corner (March 22) the bungalow was perfect for our stay as visiting family near by."

Cosy in the living room relaxing by the fire with our two dogs. It was great to have an enclosed garden. The bungalow was warm, comfortable and we will definitely be back in the future.

  • "Magnolia Corner was a home away from home for us over the Christmas period when we visited family in the area."

Nothing was too much trouble for the owner who provided a high chair for our grandson and who was kind enough to decorate the bungalow for us and put up a lovely Christmas tree in the lounge. Situated in a quiet residential area with friendly neighbours (one of whom even dropped a Christmas card through the letterbox!) the bungalow is well equipped, perfectly clean and warm. Highly recommended for any visit to this area.

  • "This is a very spacious and well presented property."

It is well situated with local facilities within walking distance. The garden is secure for dogs and there is a dog exercise area close by. I have scored it down for description due to Sykes stating that it has 2 double beds when it only has one, the other bedrooms being twins. Despite that, I would highly recommend this property.

  • "Very much enjoyed our weekend stay at this lovely property."

The pictures on the site do not do it justice. Lovely welcome pack awaited us on arrival, including one for our 4 legged friend Trafford. It’s very spacious and tastefully decorated throughout, we’re already planning our next visit.

  • "Beautifully furnished property with everything on hand."

Spotlessly clean with crisp fresh bedding in a beautiful location. Only issue was the double bed was a large single, impossible to comfortably fit 2 slim adults, had to use the sofa bed in lounge.

  • "A really great property in a quiet location, which has everything for your stay including a secure secluded garden with furniture."

Only 2 minutes to the park at the back of the property which is great for dog walking or use of the childrens play area. Also just 10minutes walk to town with all the local shops and pubs. A good Itailian restaurant next to car park. The only negative is down to Skyes listing on the bedrooms. There is a master bedroom that can be twins or king size with shower ensuite. 2nd bedroom is twins and the beds are not together. 3rd bedroom is only a 4ft bed that was impossible for 2 of us to sleep in. But there was luckily a very comfortable bed settee.

  • "The house was lovely with a really nice garden that the whole family enjoyed relaxing in."

The location was excellent as everywhere we wanted to visit was within a 15 to 30 minute drive or closer! The owner Sally replied promptly to any queries we had.

  • "This is a beautiful little cottage."

It's very well fitted out and is extremely quiet to stay in with a lovely view out over the huge field behind. It's tucked away from and feels secluded. Beds are very comfortable and everything works perfectly. Sally left all sorts of delicious things in the kitchen to welcome us - thank you!

About the location

TICKHILL

Sheffield 18.5 miles.

Tickhill is a Yorkshire village with a history dating back to the Domesday Book. There are many traditional shops and pubs in Tickhill, which is a lovely place to explore, including the 12th century Tickhill Castle, which has had an eventful history; a battle between Prince John and his brother King Richard I and then the civil war of the 1640s when Oliver Cromwell paid it a visit! Today Tickhill Castle remains an impressive ruin, with its Norman gatehouse, foundations and moat, which are all accessible. The lovely millpond has a wide variety of ducks, and there is a very pleasant circular walk from it, a great way to take in the surroundings. Tickhill is in a superb position for Doncaster Races, which is 10 miles away, and the bright lights, theatres and shopping of Sheffield is only a 20 minute drive away. The Peak District National Park, Alton Towers and Sherwood Forest, the classic home of Robin Hood are all within easy reach. Bawtry, where the Mayflower Pilgrim Fathers came from, can be explored, while Lincoln is just 40 minutes away and a bit further are the Lincolnshire coast, York and Leeds, or The Deep submarium in Hull.
