The external pictures dont do it justice as very cute from the front! Penney the owner was great and was on hand if we needed. Lovely warm cosy cottage and very quiet although on a working farm could have done with a couple more nights the nights went very quickly. Lovely castle on the doorstep too!

It was extremely comfortable and clean, nice and warm and well furnished. The owner was pleasant and helpful and easy to chat to. On arrival we were nicely surprised to receive a welcome hamper with some useful items, very thoughtful. The local area was most enjoyable and mostly peaceful and the property was within easy driving of the main towns and for buying essentials and we had a good time exploring the picturesque Shropshire countryside.

.. Penney and Henry have thought of everything... and nothing too much trouble for them... They are available at all times but never intrusive Sadly we had to leave mid week because of Health reasons ... ... Penney and Henry leave a booklet of information and cover everything you need to know Only problem we had was how to turn the cooker on never used a cooker like that before... we only used the top so never worked the oven we ate out mostly only had breakfast in

It is part of a working farm and the surrounding countryside is spectacular. Ideally situated near Church Stretton, Ludlow and Shrewsbury with easy access to the Shropshire Hills and the A5 taking you into Wales. We enjoyed our week in this lovely cottage, despite some unsettled weather. We can definitely recommend this cottage and hope to visit again soon.

  • "Having stayed in quite a few holiday cottages over the years, I can honestly say that Virginia Cottage was one of the best, if not THE best, I have ever experienced."

It was extremely well equipped, especially with kitchen items, wonderfully warm and spotlessly clean. The layout is very nice, with the kitchen/dining area connected to the lounge so that you're able to chat and socialise even if you're the one doing the cooking. It also has a wonderful wood burner. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. I would absolutely recommend Virginia Cottage for a relaxing break in pretty countryside.

Also a shoot went on at the property and in the evening some Avent going on to be woke up by loud talking and banging on car doors this all on the last night otherwise the cottage was cosy, the roads where not very good for getting to the property.

It is great for exploring the Shropshire countryside with it's rolling fields and hills or Wales. The cottage is well equipped and very comfy with a great garden area and all on one level. Dogs are welcome, with large rugs provided to cover the two sofa's so the whole family can relax together. There is a log burner in the open plan livingroom/kitchen but we have never used it as the cottage is always nice and warm. Ideal for families or just the two of us and the dog.

Far exceeded our expectations for a family Christmas. Whilst 2 adults stayed here, there were 4 of us & two little children each day. Plenty of sitting room space and the kitchen more than coped with the hectic demands of cooking a family Christmas lunch, with absolutely everything we needed to hand. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and there are quality soft furnishings throughout the cottage. 10/10 in every aspect, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you.
