  • "This was my second stay at Cordwainer Cottage."

It is ideally located for all the places I wanted to visit. Muriel, the owner is lovely, and we spoke most days. It had everything I needed for my break and it was spotlessly clean. I've already recommended it to several of my friends.. The only suggestion I would make, would be to put a mirror on the opposite side of the road to assist exiting the driveway.

Thank you for your lovely comments Les... it was super to have you visit once again! We take on board your suggestion about the mirror... Many thanks Property Owner

  • "A lovely little cottage equipped with everything you need."

The cottage sits in the owners grounds. I can honestly say she is one of the nicest people I have ever met and her local knowledge helped make the holiday as enjoyable as it was, We also saw her for a daily chat and they were as much a part of the holiday as our daily trips out. Bakewell market on a Monday is definitely worth a visit. Also whilst you are in the potteries you have to visit one of the pottery museums. We went to Gladstone pottery and it was a day to remember. My husband is partially sighted and the staff were magnificent .The cafe is also worth a visit, be warned though the tea cakes are bigger than a small plate. Thinking of booking the cottage again next year.
