  • "This was a lovely space to stay for our sons 21st birthday."

    The beds were comfortable and bedrooms decorated beautifully. We loved the pool table area and spent our evenings in there. The only disappointment was the hot tub. The size of it was not sufficient for the property size and it was not hot enough. However, we had a great stay with the family.

  • "The property was lovely, would've benefited from a bigger bed in the annex, double was too small."

    Owner was very prompt in attending the cottage when we needed items, such as toilet rolls and tea towels, replenishing. Beautiful view of golf course from cottage, road noise wasn't too disturbing but was noticeable. Facilities were very good. Would definitely recommend. The only negative was that fact that there was only 1 x bathroom for showering purposes, so the annex bathroom was used as well. Not too inconvenient as we were all friends and got on well.

  • "The cottage was just what we were hoping for."

    .the size, the games room and the hot tub. As we cook everyday, I did feel that there was not enough pans and baking trays to cater for 7 adults. Also a struggle to all sit at the dining room table, we pinched the dressing table stool. The hosts and maintenance man were very supportive and quick to answer any questions. Would stay there again and recommend to family and friends.

  • "We have just come back from a weeks break for my husbands 50th the house was just beautiful."

    The attention to detail was lovely, the views were amazing and Ruby and Ash were great hosts. They checked on the hot tub almost every day and always would let us know beforehand and would be there with in minutes if you had a problem could not fault them at all. All my friends that stayed loved it and we will definitely come back if they would have us

  • "The cottage and the location were brilliant."

    I do think that a cottage sleeping 8 should have a dishwasher for obvious reasons and there’s plenty of space. We found we had to wash pans etc before use which is a bit off-putting! Also one or two basic kitchen items not supplied (eg grater) we bought one and left it there! I phoned Sykes before booking to enquire about outdoor space for our 4 and 6 year old grandsons and was told there was grass at the side of the cottage for ball games etc. This was 3 feet tall so we had to go to the village for ball games. However, although I wouldn’t recommend it to others in our position for the reasons above, the cottage itself is lovely as is the hot tub so we were very happy overall.

    Regarding a dishwasher, this is something that we will look at considering in the future. We do not currently have one, but we will certainly give that some consideration to enhance guest experience in the future although it is not possible to install one at the current time and so we do not advertise the property as having one. Regarding the outside space, apologies for any miscommunication- the property does have a front and rear garden which has a slide. Regrettably the grassy area to the side of the property is outside our perimeter and so that does fall outside our maintenance remit, however in the local area there is also a park which we hope your children enjoyed.   • "Having booked multiple breaks away with sykes, we can honestly say this is the best property we have stayed in."

    We loved how secluded the house was but still near enough to restaurants and shops. The house was beautifully decorated , had spacious rooms and all the amenities you could ask for. The beds were all comfortable, as were the sofas in the main living area. Kitchen was great and ,unlike most places we book, had plenty of fridge space! The hot tub was brilliant. We have found with other places that the temperature dipped or they weren't clean , but this one had no issues at all. The owner of the property was very accommodating to us to. I had contacted them before we arrived with regard to it being my girlfriends birthday when we visited. The birthday package they provided was lovely, especially the personalised label on the bottle of wine. The separate building with the pool table and entertainment area was probably our favourite part. We were wowed by the spinning TV! Was like having a bar next door to the house. We will definitely be looking to book again if not later in the year , then next year . Thanks for a wonderful stay . Dan

  • "We had a great time here - the games room especially was fantastic."

    House was nice and clean and in a great location - really enjoyed our week here. The bottle of wine was enjoyed and the hot tub was used every day. Only negatives were that the mattresses were very uncomfortable - could feel the springs and had to use the duvet to make them less prominent. The left hand oven didn’t seem to work (knob was upside down) but wouldnt light in any position. We also found the position of the camera facing the hot tub a bit intrusive - I know there was a note to say cameras weren’t monitored when guests were staying but how do we know that? These are minor issues and we would still recommend staying here to anyone - perfect half term break. Many thanks

We are currently awaiting delivery of new mattresses throughout the property over the next week which should resolve this issue. The CCTV camera is there for when the property is vacant for security reasons due to there being high value items to the rear of the property. We ask guests to kindly understand this and trust that this is not monitored during their stay. The kitchen cooker knobs detach quite easily with being an AGA oven and need removing and put back on in the correct direction if not working correctly.   • "Really beautiful place !"

    Owners were really kinds with a great decoration and presentation ( the Christmas tree was amazing ). Therefore the trafic was a bit noisy and the internet wasn't working... But an awesome stay overall

The cottage owner was so helpful during our time there which was great. The location of the property is ideal, beautiful views to the front of the house and a short walk to the local pub. Have already recommended to friends and hope to return soon.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting."

    Great area for seeing and doing. However a few small issues which need addressing. 2 bedrooms have no hanging space whatsoever or drawers we had clothes all over. The cutlery was very poor it kept falling to pieces. In the barn we had problems with the water dispersing down the drain hole on inspection it was filthy. Full of hair which we had to clean. On the whole it was superb someone came every other day to check the hot tub. We just felt that it was lacking basic things too many fancy bits which are lovely but would prefer the basics sorting. Pub in the village is worth going its fab. We would definitely go back

    Clean and monden. Would highly recommend to everyone i know. The barn was absolutely stunning, was a big hit with our family. The hot tub was lovely, especially at night with all the lights truned on. Walking up the hill to watch the sunset every night was truly amazing. Memories that will last forever! Thank you so much again for letting us stay in your beautiful home. (The house smells amazing as well)

  • "Wonderful cottage and perfect for what we needed."

    Hot tub was amazing although a little cool when we first arrived which was a shame as we wanted to get it in straight away. However once it had heated up it was great. Living room, kitchen and bedrooms all lovely, really modern decoration. Lovely welcome gift. Stafford arms a 10-15 minute walk away was fantastic, we spent a lovely afternoon on there. Food and service was great. Only cons worth noting. 1. Towels. Not enough bath towels for four adults, There were small towels in bedroom and outside hot tub but not enough to cover a full size adult. 2. Glasses. Not enough water glasses/tumblers for soft drinks 3. Heating/fire. Living room got a little chilly. Not sure if there was any under floor heating but it didn’t work well. We tried to light the fire a few times but struggled to ever get it working properly. Not sure what people do in the winter. 4. Didn’t appear to be any recycling bins so we had to leave all our recycling in the kitchen for the cleaner to remove. 5. Worth investing in some new mattresses. The ones in the double rooms were very hard and lumpy.

  • "Cottage was very clean and welcoming with a lovely welcome pack on arrival."

    The location is perfect, the view of the golf course from the front of the cottage is beautiful and it’s ideally placed for days out walking and places of interest. The only comment I would make is that the kitchen would benefit from having casserole/oven dishes as we ate from the cottage most evenings, we had to use the metal ovenware for lasagne etc. Other than that we found it a delightful place to stay and had a lovely break and would definitely consider staying there again.

  • "An absolutely stunning property tastefully decorated."

    Set on the edge of a golf course the property is not overlooked by any other properties. There’s a large fridge freezer and a further fridge so plenty of room for food and drink! Lovely log burner which we made the most of, especially on the first snowy night! The hot tub is amazing! We spent many an hour relaxing in it with a ‘plastic’ of fizz! A short walk away is The Stafford Arms in Bagnall - excellent food and service! The property was spotlessly clean and welcoming! Would recommend and hope to return!

  • "Lovely house decorated and furnished to a high standard."

    Outlook was just as described looking out across the golf course. It was a very relaxing break with the extra warmth of the log burner. We enjoyed cooking a meal for our friends on the range cooker. Another real plus was the luxurious hot tub. We had a great home cooked meal in the Stafford Arms. I would highly recommend Greenway Cottage

  • "Cottage was well presented and clean."

    Close to a lovely local pub and golf course. There are no radiators in the living room so we had to light to fire however there were barely enough logs for 1 nights fire. Unfortunately we also found a sewing needle in a cushion and when my wife sat down this came through the cushion and stabbed her in the side which was not pleasant. The security camera at the back was facing the hot tub, which felt a little invasive especially if you are not body confident. Nice property but given the price you would expect slightly more in terms of a welcome pack, logs to heat property, towels, etc. Hot tub was lovely and garden very tidy and neat. Property is remote and peaceful.

  • "The "Sat nav" located the cottage at the junction with school road."

    It is actually about 200m away at the bend on Bagnall road near the village of Light Oaks. I found it quite easily however since it had a nameplate displayed. The cottage is located on a golf course which gives lovely views of the countryside. The nearest neighbours are at Little Oaks and Bagnall about half a mile away either side of the cottage. The occasional passing golfer during the day does not spoil the privacy of the location and the cottage looks good in its surroundings. The cottage is modern and well appointed with a wood burning stove in the lounge and a new hot tub in the back garden.

This gorgeous redbrick house rests on the fringes of hole nine of Greenway Hall Golf Centre, in the Staffordshire village of Bagnall.
