Set within the grounds of a working farm in the idyllic village of Rushton Spencer, is this beautifully converted barn.

Renovated to a high standard with stylish interiors throughout whilst retaining its traditional charm through exposed high-vaulted beam ceilings, Three Nooks Barn offers a truly tranquil base from which to enjoy a relaxing retreat to the Staffordshire countryside.

Spend your evenings socialising with friends and family in the gorgeous open-plan living space, as you kick back on the plush corner sofa and enjoy a movie on the sleek television, or take to the well-equipped country-style kitchen and prepare a delicious family feast with the help of the impressive electrical appliances.

Cross the heated stone floors to the large wood dining table and crack open a perfectly chilled bottle of bubbly, before toasting to the good times that lie ahead.

On warmer evenings, be sure to head outside to the enclosed back garden and indulge in drinks on the patio before dinner alfresco at the outdoor dining space, whilst your four-legged friends play happily on the lawn.

Freshen up in the handy cloakroom or venture up the staircase to the first floor and indulge in a rejuvenating rise in the shower room, whilst your towel keeps nice and toasty on the heated rail.

Retreat to one of the three homely bedrooms including two king-size, one of which can be found benefitting from an en-suite shower room, and a double hosting an abundance of storage for all of your belongings.

Spend your days touring the countryside with an early morning stroll around the nearby Rudyard Lake, or explore the wonderful woodland of Knypersley Reservoir.

Take an awe-inspiring hike up to Paul Rey Viewpoint and be rewarded for your efforts with magnificent views of the encompassing landscapes, before descending to the town of Leek where you can grab a hearty meal in one of the many cafés or restaurants, before heading back to your holiday home to lay your feet to rest.

Wander the well-manicured lawns of the national trust owned Biddulph Grange Garden, or venture further into the Peak District to see the Hanging Stone and Lud's Church.

Wander The Roaches or take a tour of The Bridestones Neolithic Tomb and Biddulph Old Hall, a firm favourite amongst avid historians.

Swing through the treetops and learn how to Segway at Go Ape Buxton, or delight in a fun-filled day out at Peak Wildlife Park and Kingsley Bird and Falconry centre, before grabbing groceries from the local supermarket ahead of a quiet evening indoors.

About the location

Buxton 12 miles; Ashbourne 15 miles.

The hillside market town of Leek, known as “The Queen of the Moorlands” is situated on the western side of The Peaks and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture influenced by William Morris - a reminder of the town’s prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, a good selection of restaurants, a local park and leisure facilities and real ale pubs. Situated close to Three Shires Head, the meeting point of the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, Leek is near to Chatsworth House, Buxton Opera House and Gawsworth Hall, plus Alton Towers is within driving distance.
