hosts cannot do enough to help, very accommodating and the cottage is totally equipped. I went for R and R after an operation and spent time in the garden over looking the fields, watching the horses play. It was cold but warm in the sun so i easily dosed; this place is idyllic. • "One of the most beautiful cottages we have stayed in."

Stunningly decorated with all the facilities you could possibly need. Lots of space, including a light landing area perfect for reading on. I booked this cottage very much spur of the moment and then panicked I'd booked something without really taking time to check it out. I need not have worried. There are many places to visit nearby, both for young and old. Local walking routes certainly stretch the leg muscles and are plentiful and well marked. Hosts were so very kind in all respects and welcome gifts so thoughtful. Communication better than any I've experienced.

It is very tastefully decorated and exceptionally well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The owners, Sally and Richard made us feel very welcome by making the barn very Christmasy with a beautifully decorated tree in the lounge and also providing chocolates, Prosecco and beer together with a welcome pack full of goodies. Most appreciated. Will definitely be returning. Margaret and Ian Dibben Copthorne West Sussex

  • "We recently enjoyed a stay at the Blue House which is located in tranquil rural Cheshire near Chester."

It is a spacious well appointed ultra clean accommodation situated on a working racehorse stud. The owners Richard and Sally are very friendly as all the staff we encountered having the run of the premises. All credit to Donna who looks after the Blue House the photo's show what high standard the premise is. It was a relaxing place to return to after a day out Chester being very close and an excellent Park & Ride priced at £2 each. If you require to travel by train anywhere there is a hourly 41 bus service from nearby Tattenhall . This runs direct to Chester Station and operated by Aintree Coaches and keeps you from driving to Chester approx. 30 minute run. We used the nearby Poacher Inn frequently about a mile away the food was excellent. and well priced for Cheshire ! We will book the Blue House again in the future and have no adverse comments to make it was excellent. Our stay April 22.

About the location

MALPAS

Tarporley 12 miles; Chester 15 miles.

Malpas is a charming village deep in the south Cheshire countryside, home to Norman Motte and Bailey Castle, as well as a medieval street pattern. There are ample shops in the area, together with traditional inns, one being The Lion at Malpas, a quintessentially British inn serving delicious food and drink, with beautifully designed seating spaces to relax in, it dates back to the 16th century and is a real gem. The area is scattered with holiday cottages, found tucked away in quiet parts of the town, or in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Without doubt the town's treasure is its church, built of rich red sandstone with good examples of fine medieval work. Malpas lies within the shadow of the Peckforton Hills, is close to Tarporley and the Delamere Forest, with Tilston and Tushingham being within easy reach. There is access to Chester races or Bangor on Dee racecourse, several golf courses and fishing. It is good cycling countryside and boating is one of the pleasures of the nearby Shropshire Grand Union Canal. Cholmondeley Castle and Garden is well worth visiting, one of the region’s top tourist attractions.
