A relaxing family holiday and the property fulfilled all our expectations again as this is our second visit School House is a listed property restored with is characterful quirks and set in a rural location offering ideal family space and additional bonus of the enclosed paddock at the back which was great for our dogs. The log burning stove is a cosy addition and enjoyed in the evenings as was the large hot tub. The Kitchen has all the required facilities and the large range cooker made catering for our group really easy. There are a few super markets in the near by town of Leek, although we did arrange a food delivery that was very convenient. The Staff that look after the property are more than amenable and nothing is too much trouble for them. The whole house is a comfortable and welcoming base to explore the surrounding peak district. We particully enjoyed our visit to near by Alton Towers, bike riding on the Tissington Trail (we bring our own bikes as there’s a shed that we can store them in) and walking in the beautiful Peak district. The kids went off one evening to the Cinebowl leaving us enjoy drinks in the garden and hot tub! We love School House and we have already booked for next year.

A magnificent detached Grade II listed stone-built house situated in a lovely rural position in the hamlet of Bradnop, less than 1 mile from the Peak District National Park.

The small and pretty rural hamlet of Bradnop is situated on the western edge of the Peak District National Park close to Leek, with its antiques shops, and within easy driving distance of the market towns of Buxton and Ashbourne. Nearby is superb walking with Dovedale, the beautiful Manifold Valley, and the popular Manifold Cycle Track all within easy reach. There are lots of pretty villages to explore close by, many with good pubs. Alton Towers is less than 15 minutes' drive away.
