Had the most wonderful time. So much to do and keep entertained in the area. The welcome package from the owners was such a lovely touch! Would love to go back and explore the area more and just relax in the lovely cottage some more!

  • "We had a staycation after cancelling Tenerife and had a great stay at the cottage."

My kids loved the pool. Also loved seeing the horse out of the window. Jacqui was on holiday the day we arrived but very kindly left us a bottle of fizz and chocolates for our wedding anniversary. The welcome pack of milk tea and juice etc was a lovely touch. You know you’ve you booked well when the kids cry about leaving. Definitely be back

  • "Welcoming cottage."

Felt very homely and clean. Settled straight in. Well equipped. Friendly owners. Perfect accommodation for our needs. Loved the swimming pool area - uses the pool and hot tub every day. Beautiful countryside with lots to do with our dogs. Best UK holiday we have had in a while - came home feeling refreshed and relaxed.

A beautiful rural setting but easy access to main roads to get around the area. The cottage was lovely and relaxing in the pool & hot tub was great at the end of each day. The kids loved it! The owner was friendly and approachable. We’d love to go back!!

  • "My wife and I booked the cottage for our Honeymoon and we wasn’t disappointed."

The cottage itself is lovely and in a great location to visit local attractions such as Jodrell Bank and Tatton Park. The pictures of the pool and other facilities don’t really do it justice and we spent most of our holiday having a beano in there with our boys. The pool also has a slide which was great fun. Both Jacque and Mark were amazing hosts and were always there if we needed anything and we would definitely stay again.

The pool and hot tub area was fantastic. The cottage is a brilliant location for exploring the area and visiting Chester zoo, Alton towers, legoland discovery centre and Tatton Park. The welcome pack with the very thoughtful touch of Easter eggs was great. Jackie was very welcoming. Will recommend.

The cottage was cozy and had Christmas decorations, which made it lovely. We also didn’t need to worry about tea bags etc as we had a lovely welcome pack with bread and wine etc. Thankyou to Jacqui, we will definitely be back x

  • "Booking of holiday cottage was very easy."

This was our first time booking with Sykes cottages. We stayed in laurel cottage which is one of 2 cottages run by the owners jacqui and mark. They are very nice and helpful. Check in was very easy and there was a welcome basket on arrival which was nice. The 2 cottages have shared use of the pool and hot tub area which is a really fabulous space just perfect for us and our little boy who loved sitting and splashing in the warm pool and watching people splashing in from the very fun slide! The cottage itself was quite basic and small which suited our needs and is ideally located for visiting the surrounding areas of the Peak District. There were a few things that would have made this cottage better. Unfortunately, the WiFi never worked for us. We had adequate 4g so managed. There were also a few touches which would have helped it feel more like a home away from home eg more pictures on the walls, slightly more equipment in the kitchen (no corkscrew, sieve, colander, scales, whisk, mixing bowl or airer for inside use). Having said this however, on contacting jacqui, she was very quick to help in any way and provide us with what we needed. I think to make best use of this cottage, I would recommend booking both together with family/friends in order to maximise time spent in the best feature which is the hot tub/pool area.

  • "The four of us plus the dog had a great time!"

The cottage is small but clean and comfortable with everything you need. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and our dog was made to feel at home playing with his new friends! We all loved the swimming pool and spa facilities and were able to book in our private time. The location is a great place to explore Cheshire, we went to Alton towers and old Trafford stadium, hit the beach at Wallasey. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

  • "This was a lovely cottage in a peaceful and picturesque location."

The pool area was brilliant and it was particularly good in that you could book it easily to enable your party to have the area privately for an hour at a time. The owners were very helpful and welcoming. I would stay there again.
