  • "Everything Perfect: Any property with three toilets definitely impresses my wife."

The level of cleanliness is exceptional. The bed is lovely and comfy. An iron and board are provided....excellent. Everything works as it should. The kitchen is great to use, we cooked most evenings. All in all....wonderful. Thank you.

  • "4 Aldelyme Court was great find, after living in the village for 13 years but relocating back to Cornwall we found the property excellent."

It gave us chance to catch up with family and friends, but also gave us our own independence of ‘living in a home away from home’ for the week. We will be back in contact with 4 Aldelyme Court in the future and after other holiday commitments. Thank you for a great stay. Derek and Pam Jones.

  • "Lovely property comfortable and well proportioned and in a very quiet position in the centre of the village."

Adequate amount of shops within walking distance including a great fish and chip shop and cafe. Superb ice cream in the post office, two pubs, one on the Canal and a Coop too. We'll placed to visit National trust properties in the area and also various gardens. Never got to meet the owners which was a shame. Very impressed with the cottage and area and if finances and personal circumstances allowed would buy a cottage in Audlem. We're lucky with the weather too!!

Very central to Audlem but so very quiet. So, you have all the convenience of shop, cafe, fish and chips, newsagent, pub just a short walk away. Everything you would need is in the cottage - home from home!

  • "Perfect place for us to stay with our 3 kids (7, 4 and 1) - clean, uncluttered with enough space and bathrooms!"

We wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to others. The only improvement we would suggest would be to change the cot mattress for one that tightly fits the cot, so there's no gap between the cot and the mattress. It was fine for our 1 year old but parents of small babies would probably choose not to use the cot for this reason.

A few nice touches included a box of homemade flapjacks and a pint of milk left by the owners, who provided contact numbers and were happy to be contacted if any issues. • "This is an excellent holiday home."

The fixtures, fittings, equipment and amenities are high quality. It is spotlessly clean. The decor is neutral including carpets and curtains so pop a pair of indoor slippers into your suitcase. The property is in the centre of the village with supermarket, pubs, restaurants, pretty walks and independent shops just a step away. It is in a gated community with on site parking and the full bloom flowers and plants are lovely. There is so much to do within a twenty five mile radius to suit all tastes. We had a fabulous holiday, learnt a lot and laughed a lot. You will not need a watch in this home as the church is fifty yards away (lovely view) and rings on the hour, half hour and sometimes quarter hour. Be aware that if adults in your party require separate bedrooms, the second bedroom is bunk beds. These are full size and can accommodate adults but have a fixed ladder which impedes movement and the beds cannot provide the level of orthopaedic support that some senior adults may need.

The property

This lovely cottage is located overlooking the village church in the heart of the delightful, award-winning village of Audlem, Cheshire.

This pretty, mid-terrace cottage offers the perfect base for a family holiday exploring the local area.

The cottage, designed by a local architect and set in a conservation area, has been styled with care and attention to create a peaceful retreat.

From private parking in the communal electronic gated courtyard, a short path leads to the front door, opening into a welcoming sitting room forming the hub of the home.

A modern fitted kitchen with a dining area creates a great area to socialise around a home-prepared meal, or perhaps just visit one of the local eateries in the village if you feel like an evening away from the stove.

Upstairs, there is a double sleigh bed in the master bedroom, supported by an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower, a bunk bedroom with beds suitable for adults and children alike, and a small cot room (or dressing room if preferred).

Outside this delightful cottage, the rear garden is fully enclosed, and offers a patio area where you can sit and enjoy the border shrubs, listen to the chimes of the church bells and relax in the peace and quiet of the location.

On the doorstep, you will discover all the amenities of the village, including coffee shops, delicatessens, a grocery store and three local gastro-pubs, two of which are located beside the Shropshire Union Canal, which runs through the village and leads to the nearby marina.

The village square and 13th century Church of St James are next door, and local activities regularly occur, including Proms in the Park, an ever-popular bonfire night and many boat festivals and carnivals throughout the year.

With so much going on in the area you will be spoilt for choice with what to do from day to day, and eager to return to create further great memories.

Audlem provides an active community centre where regular live music, parties, events, badminton and snooker are on offer, plus there are three village pubs, two on the canal itself and one in the village centre, a tourist office and many shops offering local souvenirs and gifts. Within the surrounding area you will find a whole host of attractions from a tour of an underground nuclear bunker, to Britain's largest garden centre, Bridgemere, or take a boat ride up to the beautiful Overwater Marina. Six miles away is the medieval town of Nantwich, which boasts weekly street markets and an open-air lido. Audlem is in a superb location for touring Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales.
