The property is very well equipped with all the facilities you need they really have thought of everything! Fantastic place if you have dogs as there is a large well fenced garden as well as a field they can run in adjacent to the property and walks from the doorstep. The owner Mick lives across the lane and is very approachable should you need anything. Very thoughtful welcome basket as well. Check in/out very easy as there is a key safe so no need to disturb the owner. Overall a great getaway that we would be very happy to return to. Thank you.

Everything about it is top quality. Private, large garden with everything you could wish for to enjoy long lazy summer evenings. We had such a relaxing time there, our two dogs enjoyed the freedom of a large enclosed garden and sitting on the patio in the sunshine that we were so lucky to get this late in the year. Morgan’s Butchers are local and fantastic , and nearby Apley Woods was a perfect place for a great dog walk along with Haughmond Hill, although a few strolls along the lanes from the door was also enjoyable just checking out the lovely homes around there. Mike is just opposite if you need anything and a lovely helpful host. Thank you Mike.

  • "Perfect dog friendly holiday cottage."

Fully enclosed garden which isn't overlooked and has lovely clear views of the surrounding countryside. Fab outdoor seating where you can watch geese, ducks and the occasional heron passing over. Welcoming gifts included milk, beer and chocolates which were very much appreciated. The place was so well stocked, we had everything we needed for the week. The bedrooms were a good size, and the living room with the dual aspect windows was a nice place to sit and read. The shower was perfect - I wish I had that sort of water pressure at home. The cottage is great for exploring the surrounding Shropshire area - we recommend spending a day at Hawkston Park Follies which is less than 15 mins away by car. Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, and Telford are all just a short drive away. Carding Mill Valley & the Long Mynd is less than 30mins drive away, perfect for a long hike in the hills (and to see the waterfall) - there are loads of National Trust estates nearby too, including Attingham Park which has great dog walks, a nice cafe and a well stocked (and extremely well priced) secondhand bookshop. Mike was so friendly and even sent some belongings home for us after we forgot them! We only wish we could've stayed longer - so will book two weeks next year for sure!

Nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely amazing place to stay. Beautiful area very very quiet with the private road hardly any cars come down the road. The paddock for the dog was just outstanding. Our dog ran for hours and slept peacefully all night. Lovely added addition of the fans in the ceilings for hot days. They are very quiet and really cool you down. The windows open in the bedrooms so no rain can get in but plenty of fresh air on hot summer nights. The garden is very large and even without the paddock was secure for our dog to run free. The cottage is very well equipped and Mick has done a wonderful job of making sure he’s covered everything to ensure you have a fabulous holiday. He left us alone after the greeting to enjoy the cottage in privacy. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend to anybody who has a dog. FABULOUS - Thank you Mick we will be returning.

A great deal of thought and care has been put into the house which is very comfortable and relaxing, sitting outside in the evening listening to the birds singing each night was one of the simple pleasures of our holiday. It is within an hour and a half drive to North Wales, Manchester and Gloucestershire. Ironbridge, which is a lovely place to visit for an afternoon, is only a twenty minute journey away. • "This was one of the best equipped cottages we have ever stayed in!"

Everything was thought of and the furnishings and fittings were all of high standard. We chose The Stables because it looked very nice in the photos (I always check how comfy a sofa looks!) and for the private 2 acre field for our reactive dog (who hates other dogs) so it was blissful to let her charge around without it and we didn't need to walk her elsewhere for fear of bumping into other dog walkers. Sitting on the sofa looking out of the sliding doorways onto the patios and the field was just as lovely and relaxing in the rain as in the sun when we had the doors all slid open and the sun pouring in. What a lovely, lovely place to relax. My most important criteria is a comfy sofa and we barely left this one, where we snoozed and read. The beds were really comfy too. Lots of loungers and outside seating, plus a fire pit and a very smart BBQ and I think this would be a lovely place to stay in the warmer months. I would definitely return. Excellent in every way.

The owners obviously wanted their guests to want for nothing and to enjoy the time spent there.. The sunsets were spectacular, however during the day if you wanted to enjoy the sun you had your choice of sun or shade due to the excellent location of the building and and the various outside seating provided. It's in an excellent location, being surrounded by woods, fields and a beautiful paddock area with nearby stream. It has lovely sitting-out areas, with enough outdoor seats for 12 people! Whilst it's very near the owner's house, it is completely on its own with almost no traffic noise or other distractions. From the lounge area we could see only fields and trees, and one visiting fox.Facilities are first class, with everything you might need. The bedrooms and kitchen / diner are a bit on the small side, but the living room is excellent with lovely views on two side through enormous floor to ceiling windows. There is a good barbecue and fire pit outside, but no tools so you should bring your own if you want to sample the outdoor life. We only met the owner - Jo - for a short space of time - due to the current restrictions on contact, but she made sure we were OK and she could be easily contacted if we'd needed any help (we didn't). The televisions come equipped with Netflix and Amazon Prime - which gives plenty of viewing choice, and you can also stream content from your mobile device if you wish. There is also excellent WI-FI. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well sanitised - even the bedroom pillows are changed and cleaned every week - no need to take your own. We thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage.
