  • "A beautiful, well designed and furnished property."

A lovely home from home to relax in which was comfortable and warm, perfect in this November weather! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need so we were able to cook with no issues. Showers were great, had good pressure and were walk in showers with plenty of space (there are no baths but this wasn't an issue for us). Beds were beautifully made up, bedding was soft and beds comfy (we took our own pillows after seeing a review that said pillows are thin and we recommend doing the same). We took our husky, there was plenty of space for her in the property and the secured garden was great, and there are lots of great walks locally and also ones you can drive to (we loved Attingham Park). Internet and tv were good enough for what we needed. There is ample off road parking outside the property and it was easy to find using what 3 words. Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

  • "We had a great week in the Old Workshop - accommodation was clean & comfortable and location was very good."

The nearby Whixall Marina & Cafe was a real bonus both for a morning coffee and for walks along the canal. We all had a slight issue with the pillows provided - these appeared well used & very flat & in need of updating.

  • "Lovely relaxing stay at the Old Workshop."

Marina is close by and has a nice little cafe.(You can't actually see the canal from the cottage but it's a short walk.) The cottage is quite remote with not much around but that didn't bother us as we just wanted to relax. The cottage was really clean and communication with owners was good.

For some reason we thought it was in the marina with the marina as the outlook. A 2nd TV up in the snug would have been ideal for a breakout area and the grass could have been cut, but these are really small niggles and did not detrack from our enjoyment

  • "Lovely accommodation."

Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. One small niggle.. As a party of four elderly people we did find it very slippery and possibly dangerous when using the shower. Providing a non slip mat for the shower would be appreciated.

A credit to the owner`s. Very clean. Lovely quiet very little traffic. We live on a main road so it was great to be able to hear the birds. lovely walks along the canal. The cafe at the marina was a very nice place to sit and watch the narrow boats coming going. A lovely touch was shown by the owner`s by leaving tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt & pepper. Not forgetting the lovely tin of biscuits. Thank you so much for a lovely holiday.

No corner left unturned, every kitchen item we needed was available too. This made a perfect space for us to set off and explore local walks with our dog. The garden was secure and tidy for him. ! :) We decided to have Christmas away this year, and we are so glad that we did! The place is beautiful. Everything has a high standard finish that doesn’t seem to be showing any signs of ageing. It has a real cosy feel about it. They thought of everything, there was even a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. No need to take your own potato peeler! :) Thank you, we had a wonderful stay and would love to plan another stay soon.

It was immaculate on our arrival, all credit to the cleaners, with high quality fixtures and fittings. We found the beds and settees very comfortable, and the showers ( all 3) lovely. You can walk to the marina and the cafe but you cannot walk around the marina. There are plenty of walks from the cottage however so we enjoyed our week. Most of the local pubs allow dogs so we were able to eat out whenever we wanted to. We would certainly return.

Beautiful and plush. Could not find fault. Hoping that the property remains the same for years to come. Sat upstairs and watched the sunsets. Would be nice to have a TV upstairs too. The walks from the property are relaxing, no real need to get in the car unless going further afield. It was disappointing not being able to walk around the Marina but understand why, you can only go to the Cafe. We viewed the Marina from the other side of the canal on one of the walks. Thank you to Lou and Team at the Marina. All the rental properties look gorgeous.

One very small negative point, in all 3 shower rooms there was no power socket facility for electric shavers. Other than that, everything else was excellent and the little extra gifts left for us on our arrival was very thoughtful and appreciated. 4.75 Star rating overall. We will recommend this cottage to all our friends and relatives.
