The property

Leek 4.3 miles.

Resting in a leafy holding, just outside the pretty village of Rudyard and within easy reach of the picture-perfect Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands lies The Pamper Van, a single-storey lodge, ideal for couples and friends alike.

This delightful dwelling offers a wonderful self-catering holiday for four, with spa treatments offered by the owners and the renowned Peak District National Park just a short car journey away.

On arrival at the lodge, find off-road parking for two cars as you pull into the tranquillity of the countryside and take in the marvellous views.

Enter the lodge and get acquainted with the open-plan living space, sure to be the social hub during the evenings.

The space hosts a kitchen, fit with a gas oven and hob where you can whip up a delicious meal for your loved ones to enjoy at the dining table as you plan the day ahead.

After dinner, load the handy dishwasher and settle in to watch a DVD on the TV while the gas fire warms the space, and you sink into the plush sofas.

For your evening relaxation, why not take a dip in the bubbling hot tub as you enjoy the serenity of your surroundings?

As the evening draws to a close, choose from one of two well-presented bedrooms, a double with a convenient en-suite shower room and a twin with a zip and link feature for a flexible sleeping arrangement; each of the bedrooms host storage for your belongings, while ironing facilities can also be found in the lodge.

Completing the interior is a shower room with a walk-in shower, perfect after a long day of walking.

For things to do while at The Pamper Van, why not indulge in a spa treatment offered by the owner and truly treat your loved ones?

If you can tear yourself away, there are plenty of charming ways to spend your days such as a day of wandering Rudyard Lake, strolling along the peaceful lakeside before stopping for a picnic.

Jump in the car and make your way to the fantastic Peak District National Park, where an abundance of walking and cycling routes await you; navigate your way around the varying terrains for some of the prettiest scenery in the area.

For something livelier, venture into Leek where you will find plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops, such as The Old Mill Smokehouse, which serves a delicious menu which you can also take away to enjoy back in the comfort of the lodge.

Leek is also home to plenty of places to stock up on essentials so the chef of the group can really show off their skills in the kitchen.

Animal lovers will not want to miss a day at Peak Wildlife Park, boasting an array of exotic animals, while the thrill seekers of your group will love a day spent at the iconic Alton Towers, which is also within easy reach of the lodge by car.

About the location

Buxton 12 miles; Ashbourne 15 miles.

The hillside market town of Leek, known as “The Queen of the Moorlands” is situated on the western side of The Peaks and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture influenced by William Morris - a reminder of the town’s prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, a good selection of restaurants, a local park and leisure facilities and real ale pubs. Situated close to Three Shires Head, the meeting point of the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, Leek is near to Chatsworth House, Buxton Opera House and Gawsworth Hall, plus Alton Towers is within driving distance.
