  • "Lovely setting, very peaceful."

Plenty of room for 5 of us and dog. Barn was cleaned to a very high standard. The complimentary treats left by owners were a nice touch. Great location for sight seeing, recommend Wrekin Hil for a energetic walk. Ironbridge is a lovely village and The Malthouse is a very nice pub. Shrewsbury is ideal for walk around the shops and has a good market on saturday. Our long weekend away was just what we all needed and couldn't of asked for a better to place to stay, a credit to the owners and all their hard work.

Thank you so much Sharon for coming to stay and for the great feedback, we are so glad you had a good visit to Shropshire. Come back and see us again! Best wishes Emma Property Owner

  • "The Hayloft was a very comfortable and characterful place to stay."

Emma was extremely helpful in managing our requirements and we had everything we needed. Although The Hayloft was wonderfully cosy for an Autumn break, I think that it would be even lovelier in the Summer months with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy.

Thank you so much Margaret we can't wait to welcome you back to enjoy Shropshire in the sunshine! Best wishes Emma Property Owner

  • "Very much appreciated the communication from the owner, who planned a running route for me, and baked us a nice cake."

The accommodation was very luxurious and spotless. We plan to book again at the Hayloft next year, if Covid lets us. Feel free to publish this, but anonymously please.

Thank you so much for coming to stay! There are loads of great running routes so come back and see us soon! Best wishes Emma Property Owner

  • "If you are looking to escape the world and all it's daily stresses then this is the perfect place to stay."

The Hayloft, the surrounding countryside and indeed Shropshire just all complimented each other beautifully. Emma and Ted are wonderful hosts, reassuringly there if needed but also gave you space to discover the peace and tranquillity of this magical place for yourselves. The little homely touches of homemade lemon drizzle cake, fresh free range eggs and milk all added to the Haylofts natural charm. Oh yes, and totally dog friendly too. Our pooch certainly enjoyed his homemade dog biscuit and morning sniffs around the adjoining field. We will definitely be back xxxxxxx

  • "Our first Sykes experience at The Coach house Far Forest was a mixed bag BUT, The Hayloft at Lower House Barns was an absolute dream!"

The setting, the welcome basket and the barn itself were just lovely and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a countryside break that still near enough to enjoy some civilisation too. We took our two dogs and, after reading previous reviews and seeing that other visitors had taken their cat, I emailed Emma and she said we could absolutely bring our cat Merryweather too. The welcome pack even included some cat treats! The barn was spotlessly clean, the beds and bedding comfy and the showers are huge! The wifi isn't especially great which is a shame if you're staying during winter when it's too miserable out to explore the surrounding area but, luckily phone signal was strong! The little store is great! and would be perfect if it stocked some chocolate too. Emma has an Instagram page @Lowerhousebarns and it was fascinating to see the renovation process from start to finish. Emma and hubby deserve a Sykes Cottage gold star for their barns! Thank you for a lovely stay while our home was being renovated.

  • "Wonderful place and owner was lovely when she met us at the door."

The cottage was lovely and the log burner was perfect on New Years Eve. The honesty shop is very well stocked although bringing lots of festive drinks with us for NY we only needed to buy extra logs for the burner. You just pop the money in the tin. The cottage is also very dog friendly with surprise treats provided in our own welcome hamper. All in all, a thoroughly great way to welcome in the new year, in those immortal words...'I'll be back'.

The hayloft felt like a home from home. The addition of a freezer would henance the quality of a longer stay .
