  • "We arrived at the property to find that it had been grossly mis-represented and did not meet any of our needs for a safe, family-friendly environment where we could enjoy a few days of vacation."

We did not feel comfortable staying at the property after arriving and finding the property in the condition it was in (scaffolding on the side of the building), large signs saying the house was under 24 hour surveillance and not to leave any valuables in the car. It was up behind an abandoned building.

  • "Property location was great."

Wifi access was difficult, amenities were lacking such as soap and shampoo and not enough toilet paper. Guests should be informed they need to provide these. Otherwise, a great stay and I would recommend this place.

  • "The oven on the left hand side and the grill above it don't work properly."

The 'guest freezer' in the cellar doesn't work; we had to decant our food into the 'staff freezer' to keep frozen. (The labelling on that freezer could do with changing because the top half of that is a fridge, not a freezer - bit confusing) The bin outside was overflowing with black bin bags so we had to leave ours with them. Couldn't find the WIFI code.

  • "The house was in an ideal spot, close to shops, train station ect."

. But the house was so unclean, dusty, bathrooms were dirty, rubbish left in bins. Wasps nest in the roof of the wash room, so couldn't open certain windows, had to clean the fridge & freezers !!! List goes on. The house has lots of potential, and needs a lot of loving care, I think for what we paid was not worth what we got, although the bedding was clean, and beds were comfortable.

  • "Beechwood House is a brilliant way to share a holiday with extended family - lots of bedrooms and different living spaces, as well as comfortable garden furniture on a large patio."

There were lots of nice touches for children, like 2 fish tanks and a sensory room with different kinds of lights. The downstairs laundry room has a large washing machine and tumble dryer. The kitchen is a little small for large scale cooking but we managed fine. The location in Hadfield meant we could be in the Peaks in half an hour; but we could also easily walk to the shops in town. The owner was so friendly and helpful! Thanks for allowing us our first family holiday in two years - all 12 of us! One tip - Google Maps has Beechwood House on the north side of Woolley Bridge Road - but it is on the south side, well sign posted if you know where to look!
