  • "The cottage was stunning and very clean and homely."

It was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Sam the owner was extremely hospitable and was very accommodating when we asked for extra chairs and plates, etc for Christmas Day as we had 10 for dinner! Nothing was too much trouble! When we arrived in the early hours if the morning, it was a very lovely gesture to be welcomed with fresh bread and 2 bottles of wine with chocs and milk, butter and marmalade in the fridge. Small touches like toilet roll, washing up liquid, coffee and tea, dishwasher tablets, etc provided were also very nice. Plenty of fresh towels were provided and the heating was quick to warm the house with underfloor heating in the lounge. The cottage is set in a lovely quiet, rural part of Cheshire with charming pubs and shops within 10 minutes drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our family Christmas there for 2 weeks and we hope to be back again this year!

Thanks so much for the lovely feedback. That really means a lot. You were a pleasure to have and left the barn immaculate. Nice to meet you and hope to see you again. Thanks Sam Property Owner

Hi Susan I’m sorry you were unable to get Wi-Fi, we’re temporarily on 4g which is generally good in this area but will be having fibre within the next couple of months. I have added tables, hooks and Pyrex bowls . Thanks for your feedback. Sam Property Owner

  • "Spacious accommodation in a quiet location."

Lots of attractions within a short distance. Minor points: an indoor clothes airer would be useful to dry clothes that can't be tumble dried when the weather is wet. Would have liked a towel rail in the second bedroom as nowhere in bedroom or bathroom to hang towels. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond when we had any queries. Would definitely recommend to friends looking for a cottage in the area.

  • "The owner was lovely and really helpful."

Couldn't fault the property - really spacious, and clean. Plenty of room for the 4 of us, and thoughtful touches like some dishwasher tablets, and some milk and a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge! Much appreciated after a long drive up and days of house hunting in the area - Thank you! The neighbours were lovely too, (we all loved Olive the Spaiel next door who welcomed us with huge energy each time we returned!) and we found local amenities easy to find, but not encroaching on the peace of the area! Only negative (and you have to expect this in a rural area!) is the wifi. Speed is slow, and intermittent. We hopped from 4G to 3G on phones, and so wouldn't rely on streaming anything for kids (download in advance!) - again, the property has Freeview, and boardgames etc, so plenty of alternatives, but you wouldn't be able to work from there if required as it would be hard to run video calls etc. (But good excuse not to as you're supposed to be on holiday! :) All in all, an awesome stay and we would love to go back!

  • "As ten minutes from any shop by car would have been nice to have had some milk in fridge on arrival, but this is minor thing."

Also small bedroom needs curtains like other two as faces east and morning sun will wake early whoever is in there. Place is fabolous though and very new so just observations for future.

Thank You for your feedback. We usually have another blind in the third bedroom but it was being repaired, sorry I should have mentioned that to you. Thanks Sam Property Owner

The property was 5*, very comfortable and spacious with all the modern conveniences available. A cold bottle of Prosecco was a much appreciated bonus! The property was located in a quiet, peaceful area with views across the fields although it was not far away from local villages with lovely pubs. Communication with Sykes and the owner Sam was excellent. The website really does not do justice to this excellent property set in a delightful and peaceful setting. Well equipped, warm on arrival, with the most comfy beds and 5 star hotel standard bedding and towels. This was the cleanest accomodation we have stayed in and during these rather strange covid times was really appreciated. Thank you Sam for a wonderful few days.

The host Sam is extremelly helpful, accomodating and the cottage is extremelly clean. Much better than the pictures, the cottage has everything you need and more! We enjoyed watching the cows in the morning and having a chilled afternoon in the private garden! Definetely recommed the place, location and host! Thank you Sam for a lovely stay!!

Due to coronavirus restrictions, it was a trip centered around our accommodation base and both ground floor rooms were great for 'home from home' rest and relaxation. The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped and the beds were very confortable. It is a very peaceful location that I would be delighted to revisit.

  • "We had a perfect break at the cottage."

The cottage is really spacious and comfortable. It's kitted out with everything you need with super comfy beds. We arrived to a bottle of fizz which was lovely. The owners made us feel at home and suggested places lots of places to visit. Everything seemed to be about a 15 mins from the cottage - the pubs, playground, Beeston castle, Cheshire ice cream farm and delamere forest were some of the places we visited. This was good for us as we didn't want to travel far. We could have easily stayed in the cottage the whole time too. We enjoyed going for walks down the lane from the farm where you could see cows and sheep. The owner brought a calf to outside the cottage for our 3 year old who is an animal lover and he loved it. We'll be back. Our only regret was not booking a longer stay!

So Glad you enjoyed your stay, really appreciate your feedback. Thanks Sam Property Owner

It was a great escape from the busy city life. We'd ordered a food delivery, which arrived an hour or so before we arrived and Sam kindly put it all in the fridge for us. She also gave us a bottle of Prosecco which was great - also chilled in the fridge. Built-in wardrobes, en suite shower in both rooms and a huge family size bathroom which was brilliant. Before we arrived Sam sent lots of recommendations of places to go, restaurants & farm shops which was really helpful. I'd definitely return!

Spotlessly clean. Nothing was too much trouble. There is lots to see and do within the area but the barn is in a lovely spot far enough away to feel safe in these strange times. If you are looking for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life you couldn't choose a better place.
